Mine is a nickname that was given me by one of my Mexican friends years ago, and I can't shake it. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Its definitely unique as a screen-name. As to the meaning...I don't know!

Someone called you a big plump sausage. Chorizon bigger than a chorizo. Hmmmm, this might be slang for something else. :lol:

Alfred is my first name. But I go by Al.

Usually only Cops/Bill Collectors call me Alfred. So its kind of cool, if someone calls and asks for Alfred, I know I don't want to talk to them (Grin).

Of course, it is not a bad name, after all, that cool butler to Batman was named Alfred. My Dad's name was Alfred. My Son's middle name is Alfred.

Actually, I am told it is from middle English and means literally, 'Elf King' or 'Elf Counselor'. Alf being derived from Elf, and Red, being the name given to leaders at the time (As in 'Eric the Red', which actually referred to his leadership role, not the color of his hair).

The Elf Counselor translation is especially cool, if one takes in mind that I am a licensed mental health professional, by trade.

Now - After all that, aren't you sorry you asked???

Most everyone I know - cousins especially - call me Billy - been that way for close to 60 years. the "L" part is the intial of my last name. and combined is my email address. So that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
