mikeschn wrote:Yep Cliff, that's just Uniflex 255. It really does look nice!!!

I bought my Uniflex a few years ago, and I had a hard time getting the can open. But it was sealed well, and it worked as good as new.

I've been watching your build... With your CPES and your epoxy filler, you've got the base for a really nice paint job.

And don't be disappointed after your first coat. It really looks a thousand percent better after the second coat!!!

Mike...

Thanks, Mike. After sanding and the second coat of CPES, I'm a little concerned abouth the roughness of a few places, and think I should order some more Fill-it and CPES to get it really smooth! But I am already into this a year, and have been putting at least 20 hours a week since May, and just want to get the outside done so I can camp in it once before winter sets in! I think I'm going to go for it, and hope the self leveling feature of the Uniflex will take care of those few places.
God Bless

I guess I can't picture which type of roughness you are talking about.

But if it helps, here's a close up photo from my baja benroy a few years ago...

I ran out of Fix-It. This is the area that I feel could use some more feathering...

But, I'm not going to wait for it. I'm putting on the first coat of Uniflex next Saturday!

Yes Doug, I'm going to cut one on the cnc machine, similar to what I made for the side of the Lil Diner....

Finish look like it turned out real nice.
Sorry to hear about the availability of that brand in the future. May be they will find a equally decent alternative to produce in the future

Mike , That sure is looking GREAT !!!! We couldn't help but notice your solar panel , did we miss something???? Would you mind elaborating more on the solar bits...are you going to use a solar water heater too... ??? might as well add a solar cooker so the wife won't have to be "stirring the beans' all day ...hahahaa We're trying to use as much solar as possible , because you don't have to carry around the fuel with you...and it's free...mostly cause' it's free...

It looks like it's headed right for you. How far ahead of the mob to you plan on being?

Well I suppose you might be affected over there in NJ.

Did you see the list the GPW posted in another thread regarding how to prepare for a hurricane?

You know, your trailer won't be ready for this hurricane season, but maybe the next one. (Unless you cheat!)

There's not much to talk about yet. We ordered a solar controller from Northern Tools, and it's defective, and they are out of stock. We have an RMA, but I think we are waiting from a slow boat from China.

The panel itself is a 65 Watt Panel. So far the only thing on the 12V circuit is the roof vent, and several 12V plugs. We haven't installed the propane forced air furnace yet which also runs on 12v. Now that the bulk of the Generic ET is done, we can focus on the fun stuff, including solar!
