The 24 inch high lower section of the "Shrunk Bunk" is all finished, complete with the quarter circle swing out for my legs up front. The liftable (is that a word?) 24 inch high section is 3/4 finished, and I have decided to have a 24 x 24 inch wooden roof hatch, that will allow me to stand up, and check out the neighborhood while I am changing clothes. The mystery, swing-up hidden galley is still in the design and engineering stage, but looks good in cereral-box cardboard. It may not look much like a traditional TD, but will be light weight, short and very easy to pull up the mountain passes. I don't think I will be able to see it in the rearview mirror.
With the fenders mounted to the upper section, it might look a bit strange when lifted to the camping mode, because the fenders will be 3 feet above the tires. Oh well, just something else to explain to non-TD on-lookers. A fake pair of ankles complete with shoes, attached to the back and an old hat stuck onto the front, might help convince folks that it is a camper, dispite it's mear 48 inch length. :-) Shasta Dam Gathering, here I come, and I hope it doesn't rain!
