Well Brian, welding the 4x4 door hinge, would have been an easy way to attach it to the "metal" HF fenders, which I decided to use on this one. However, the 1/4 inch bolts took a little longer, but seem to work just fine. Hey, I finally got the spackle and sanding done on the upper section and started the next step........Painting. I try to keep it simple, first coat, is water-based Kilz, then a couple of coats of house paint. Big decision, what color to use???? Been thinking white roof, blue sides and red rounded front and rear ends. Maybe that would make it look too patriotic and noticeable on the road, so perhaps a camo paint scheme would blend it in better to the interstate traffic. Trying to match the metalic red on my new Chevy Cruze, would be to shiny and expensive and would probably show all of the imperfections in my woodwork. Hmmm, been thinking about a swirling Motor-Home style paint job, to make it look more expensive, instead of the 400 bucks I have already spent. I weighed it today, and it came in lighter than expected, only 280 lbs for a complete camping unit......hurrah. I really think it will be easier to pull on the road than the higher, 245 lb 6 ft Stacker. 38 mpg, expected, Woo Hoo. This 5 week build has been more involved than expected, but I am having a ball.
Tomorrow, I'll be sanding the spackle that I applied today, and I'll be heading to the big box store to get the required paint. Then, I
think I'll have a Denny's breakfast, while I am there. The curved front and back ends are made of 1/8th inch mahogony plywood, which has a very open grain. They will require total covering with spackle in order to hide the voids completely. Oh well, at least it gets me out of the house and away from all of the 80 year old single gals at the Senior Center. Nah, just kidding, I am content being single. Besides, this little rig has only room for one human and my 14 pound Pomeranian dog, Foxy Roxy, who will join me at Shasta along with Miss Piggy. This will be Grant's last Gathering, and I wouldn't miss it for the world. Come one and all, and join us, it'll be great.

Roly, dreaming teardrops, working on teardrops and finally using teardrops. See you all there.
