When the trip is done, I get to finish the finishing, if that makes sense. I'll put a layer of Zinzer 123 primer/sealer on the inside. That should take care of any residual reminders of the bunnies. Add a couple layers of latex paint on the inside (enamel on the outside) and it should be good to go. Then I get to make the removable galley for it.

I think that I'd go for a plastic tarp over the floor/under the cages NOW.

Just a thought.

Cheers,

Gus

The trip is over, never to be repeated... I hope.

The rabbits were in carriers, which have bottom trays. The trays had either a pet liner (tray diaper) or wood shavings in them. No spilling into the trailer. There really isn't a residual odor/residue in the trailer.

Ann again :)

As Michael said, there wasn't any problem with droppings or urine or smells or anything other than the rain that came in from the intense storms I drove through at one point (the door needs re-doing, which we knew, adding trim)

Because of the vents(roof and door) there was no buildup of any smells. And all the carriers have removeable pans under them, lined with litterbox liners and shavings or rice hulls..which I cleaned out every couple of days. Rabbits aren't very smelly like dogs and cats are when you crate them.

The trailer is now being painted and the galley built. :applause: I'd hoped to get it done by this weekend so we could take it down to the get together at Rock Cut part, but it's not going to happen :(

THOSE WASKILLY WITTLE WABBITS

well someone's got to say it!
Hope the "mixing" of the breeds doesn't create the new Killer Rabbits (like the rabbits on "The Knights Who Say Nee" that that British group did)! What were their names again?

The most I had in the trailer at one time was 62, I think. maybe it was 64..can't remember. Usually it was hovering around 35 or so.

All told, we transported 134 rabbits. Pick up a few, drop off a few, pick up a few more... One critter went along from Southern Missouri, across Texas to California, up the coast, back across Montana/NDakota, all the way over to Eastern Mass, down the EAST coast and finally landed in her new home in Florida. (daytona beach). She handled it pretty well, just making friends with whoever got put next to her...and she got to ride up front in the car with me quite often.

We're south of Madison, since you ask 8)

Ann

P.S., I'm told a few of the pictures of the trailer made it into some blogs around the country. I'll have to go searching. :)

Monty Python, movie was "In Search of the Holly Grail"

Ok, we have all seen pics of TDs until our ears bleed. I would like to see some pics of the bunnies.

Randy

Oh, and more pics of the suspension. An Air bag system is of interest to me.

First page of this thread, about post #8 has a pic of the rabbits at one of the stops.

http://tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?t=43869 has a pic of the suspension. Its a trailing arm with coilover shocks, not air-bags. My next trailer will probably use air-bags in a trailing arm system.
