Pfffft. I'll see your Porsche 997 Turbo, and raise you a Bentley Continental Supersports. 8)

Not really. The torque is okay, but could be much better. What the Cayenne TDI really lacks is coolness, acceleration, and top speed. I'm waiting. I know they can do it.

That engine has got to be Audi's 3.0 TDi, which I would love to have in my current tow vehicle, and Audi allroad quattro.

Seriously, if we could get the A6 allroad in the States, with the 3.0 TDi, that would be my ultimate tow vehicle. For now, it seems it is only available in Yurrip.

A Ford Fiesta...

IMHO, The Gymkhana 1 and 2 were better with the STi.

Plus Porsche doesn't make it. It's a VW in Porsche clothing.

my tow unit I am now looking for with little money I will have to wait for it to come down to what i can afford.

We are looking for a Tacoma crew cab pickup.

The dream part is to have a small camper in the back that has a Bath shower combo.

But, Porsche designed the Touareg for VW as well as its own Cayenne.

Actually, not quite.

Porsche and VW/Audi developed the platform together for the Cayenne, the Taureg and the Q7. But, Porsche builds the Cayenne using Porsche engines, although the V6 engine is based on a VW engine design, modified by Porsche. Volkswagen supplies Porsche with the basic frame and the doors.

The V8 engines are all Porsche.

The diesel Cayennes do use a VW/Audi 3.0 TDi.

So, the Cayenne is related to the Taureg andQ7, but it is more Porsche thanVW/Audi.

Just give me a 1930 Chevy roadster, with rumble-seat and fold-down windshield, just like the one I had in High School back in the 40's. Then have it completely restored and provide state-of-the-art suspension, high perfomance engine and 6 speed automatic. XM radio and OnStar would be a must, custom leather interior, plus electric heated and cooled seats. That's all I'd ask for. Oh yes, a metalic maroon paint job would set it off nicely.... :-)
8) :o    Roly, dreaming about 65 years ago. (No Rudy Valley or Laurence Welk CD's required, just Blue Grass & Country!)

NICE truck. Not a bad TTT either. What year is yours? (and is that the Amethyst paint?)

I could dream, but when I do, I tend to come up with what we got. It gets great mileage, is is comfortable, and looks pretty good too. I am happy with what I got.

If I can't have one of these ...
Image

My truck, with the 24-valve Cummins and 2 more doors ... sigh.

There's $10 grand I need to find. Or give up the camper and downsize to a stow-and-go vintage Grand Caravan / Town & Country (we got so spoilt last week
on a business trip to Dallas with the HD radio -- it's like satellite only free, and no Howard Stern or similar idjit channel -- and the backup camera and GPS,
it isn't funny; I'm trying to find one of those to go in the 1992 Ramcharger for my SO's birthday next month) .

I have the 318. It's bulletproof. I have 163K on this 1997 Extended Cab 4x2 automatic truck, and I adore this vehicle.
But now we're traveling with friends as often as not and they're not as limber as my kids ... who were in high school when I bought this truck in '03.

So somebody, usually me, is having to put the back seat on one leg at a time and not get concussed on the door frame (not easy, witness the bruise above my ear).
If I'm driving and my SO is in the backseat, all's well. If my SO is driving and I'm in the backseat, all's well.

If all six seats in the truck (yes, I have six seatbelts. Yes. They all work.) are full and both my SO and I are in the back ... not so much, especially as I don't have
step bars and two of my friends are way shorter than am I. My SO is significantly taller than me,
but I have longer legs than he; hence, my inability to bend thru the hatch safely.

Yep. It's a lot like an airplane. Even nearly the same color ...
