I always wondered about folks leaving the galley hatch open.
I only opened mine when I was right there cooking. then closed it right away.
I learned the Silver Shadow galley really isn't big enough, so I just used the picnic tables at the parks to cook at.
I like to boon dock at a farm in Eastern Washington. The place is crawling with all sorts of rodents that like to get int cars and trailers. That attracts the rattle snakes into the aforementioned cars and trailers, so I never left any thing open for a second there.
Oh ya, I forgot. Congratulations on catching the mouse.

I use a hot glue gun and glue a piece of corn to the trigger, they try to chew the hard corn and gets them almost every time. I did have the corn break off once, but the mouse did not make it out alive, Glad you got him/her. Now for the bad news, they usually do not live alone and have lots of babies fast!! Using decon leaves a dead stinking carcass in some unreachable cavity. I do like the bucket traps in the barn but what a mess in the spring to have to clean up. Bill

No permit so I'll happily mail him back. What's your address?
