it is the object on the roof of my td in the lower picture, almost as long as the 8' td.
closer picture of it on the td 97149
how it sits on the bank 97142
painting it http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid= ... =3&theater
http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid= ... =3&theater
it doesn't weigh much, I can hold it over my head with my arms straight, I've had my wife (100#), two youngest kids (70#), myself (170#), our lunches, toys, life jackets etc. and still had a few inches of free-board.
more pics of the boat, and others I built, in action http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.103918096297483.7986.100000378802082&type=1&l=b39bda1b38
these boats have been built in attics, basements, living rooms, etc. all you need is about the same space as a twin bed.

For the heck of it I may try to make one those boats.
If it's about the weight of a sheet of 1/4" plywood, that's light.

the lightest one I've built so far (my sons) came out to 35# painted with bow and stern ropes. I built it using the slightly more expensive method that uses marine epoxy and fiberglass tape for all the joints. It also only took me 6 hrs to make the hull, but it is build #4 for me. I'm gonna have to make another one soon, for my third child, age 5-6 is about the right age for a kid to be their own captain, and it is as memorable for them as riding without training wheels for the first time.

  The only bad thing about that is the trolling motor makes it so that it is required to have registration numbers on it.

Maybe I should make me a redneck boat like this one.
It just needs to be a tad bit longer with a cooler behind the seat full of iced down pbr.
Oh yeah, it would need room for the tackle too.

Nope not is the south has to be above a certain number of hordes on the motor, but that does look like some of the boats I've seen on the chattahochee river from th AL side

Rowerwet, in checking out your pictures I noticed your "little boat taking on water did you do that on purpose?" How much weight does it hold up safely? What are the dimensions?
Thanks :)

Well I got my boat today but not without some difficulties. When I ordered the boat the other day from cabelas thats when the problems began. :?
I ordered online and gave them my current address and phone number but after I placed my order and created an account I later checked the order info and somehow they used a phone number I haven't had in years plus it had my full name with the letter V at the end of it. To my knowledge, I never ordered anything from cabelas so that's very puzzling to me. When I called them the order was already processed and being shipped by ups freight. They told me they had straighten it out but luckily I got the tracking number from them to check and see and it wasn't. :x I figured I'd better call ups freight to give them the correct phone number so they could schedule a delivery time. They had already tried calling me friday but couldn't reach me because of the wrong phone number so it wasn't loaded on the truck for delivery for today. They asked me if I wanted to come and get it in Evansville IN. and that's what I had to do. Luckily for me I was off work today because of the holiday.
When I got it home and put it together there were two things that were wrong with it. There was a broken piece of the seat that was laying in the box and the tie-down straps were a bit short compared to the ones in the pics. Other than the shipping difficulties and the 2 other issues, I believe it's gonna be a good boat.

Glad you got it home safely. Is Cabelas going to send you a new seat?

Hi Sharon

I haven't contacted them yet. The piece that was broken off doesn't hurt the function of the seat at all. I'm thinking I might be able to glue it back on. If I decide to just glue it back on, what would be good glue to use or should I see if they'll replace it for me.

I think I'd call them first and, while they are on the line, have them go to this forum website and look in this thread, at the picture there. This is because 1) They can see it right away, while you're talking to them; and 2) They will see that they have an audience of at least a possible 15,000+ forum campers who want to see what they will do about it. Regardless, there's a good chance that you'll get a new seat out of it as they are a quality company. What they may do is send you a new seat and ask you to send the old seat back in the box that the new seat came in; so, meanwhile, you can use and enjoy your boat. Good luck! :)

Sharon

I emailed them last night and they emailed back saying they'll look into it and would get back to me today. I'll probably call them today on my lunch break also. I also mentioned to them that I have a picture of it but maybe I'll bring up the forum as well. Hopefully they'll make it right with me.
