My thinking is to paint, Print, or design a way that the authorities can see it from the air or high up cameras.

on top of your roof paint, print numbers. License plate, or trailer name, or a design or even racing strips Red or white or blue. As long as you do not break the law Then this should make it harder to loose from the air!!

show police what your trailer looks like and make lost-trailer flyers.
Maybe have we can have them made now and keep them in the car that way when it does get stolen we can get it back in time for it to get stolen again. sorry I have dry humor.

One thing I do know is you have time in your favor!! Thieves want things to work right away....They do not want it to take time to steal. So the harder you make it for them to steal like more then one lock the better the chances that they will not try your trailer.

Slow Lee Senn here look forward to seeing you at Walk the Winds. The best protection I use when near cities is to remove one wheel ,set that side on a jack stand, then throw the wheel in your rig and go about your business. I admit it is kinda cumbersome but effective and stupid cheap. Lee

Im pretty certain when you start leaving your trailer in big cities, you will need multiple lines of defense.

Hitch locks seem all well and good but if you have a light weight trailer that wont stop thieves from literally walking off with it. In a dense city, they could walk that thing a few blocks and it would "vanish".

My thought would be a 3 point security setup; hitch, wheels and doors.

Plenty of research options on hitch locks and to me, not the most important. But still of course a must. Shows people youre aware.

Wheels/axel in my opinion is priority.

An audible alarm for doors I think is brilliant, but need to research more on my end.

Also GPS tracking isnt as expensive as people may think. What with smart phones and the like. I own a set of "tiles" and a plan to set one in the trailer.

I think thats a good idea too! but maybe put some of those locking lug nuts on there so someone cant throw a spare on it and drive off. My 2 cents

You may be right. I think thats how it works for the most part, but it also has a "Notify when found" feature. So say someone steals your trailer, I think you can tell the app to notify you whenever other Tile users come within range of it and it will tell you that location. Obviously if someone steals your trailer takes it home in the woods, chances are you'll never get a notification. But if youre in a city the chances may be greater.

Spent a few minutes on their site, do they have data for how many people in each country or something have bought these? It only really works if lots of others have them. 100ft is shorter than a lot of driveways.

Did a brisk search and really only came across a bunch of fluffy graphics and feel-good videos. Couldnt find any actual numbers.

I does seem the more TILEs that are out there the more it would be an effective product. I purchased mine through a kickstarter like 4 or 5 years ago, I think. Its been around a bit. I dont think the 100 foot thing applies for every feature. I think the 100ft thing if for your immediate TILE, like if you lost your keys and you need to find them in your house. The Find my Tile thing is where the bigger network thing comes into play.

And if you think about it, $25 for just one tile is a low cost just for the option. When you've sunk a few grand into a trailer, not including man-hours, might not hurt.
