2 more angles on the trailer frame to cut down to 5 foot 10 inches wide and I got the old hay trailers frame sized down to a large teardrops size for teardrop 2 of a build at 12 foot long and 5 foot 10 wide.

its going to be a custom built wild goose desinge with a length wise bed and not a cross wise one and a 2 door wild goose as well as the 3 rd door in the galley hatch to make the walk in stand up part of the teardrop.

this teardrop the wild goose one will have a full 60 inch wide or bettor queen size bed.

once I get the 2 angles out I got to line dad up with the welder on the rear of the trailer frame to weld the back end in with a peice of thin walled square tubing.

Slow,
Any pic's of this yet? I'm working an a tiny sleeper based on some English ones with entrance from the back with a removable galley and one side door. She'll be painted like a lady bug! frame built working on storage under floor.

Thanks! Actually for as nasty as it is it doesn't hurt unless I smack it on something. The huge wrap they put on was discarded in hours is I'm an IT manager and needed finger! Probably using it more than I should but my trailer isn't going to build itself! Took off early from work yesterday and finally installed my springs, axle, and tires. It moves! I also started running my ceiling wiring. Hope to have outer skin on by end of day!

Not a whole lot...seems that I ordered windows, the next logical thing I need to finish (final details depend on the installation) from a place out west. However, bad timing. The place was shut down for a week due to some gathering that folks here keep "damning" or dam something, when they refer to it. I guess I'll piddle around while you lucky ones have fun!

1) Figured out that the four wire kit I put on my Honda Element does in fact work fine, 2) figured out that the A frame coupler I was going to use on the HF Trailer to lower the coupler height to better fit my Honda hitch height will NOT fit the trailer frame even though trailer and coupler are "haul-master".

So I guess I need to figure out how to bolt in a 2x2 square tube and add a coupler to that. And might as well extend the coupler a bit while I'm at it.

slowcowboy wrote:i can take a photo of a door frame and a bare metal trailer frame and wheels. Like I said earler. I don't need the new wild goose build till july of 2014. and I am buried in farm and ranch work and trying to work spot jobs to make money to pay bills.

work on the new wild goose is going slower than a snails pace.

with other irons in the fire. and owning a teardrop already and really not needing the new one till I get married. I am not really rushing this new teardrop.

then theres money for materials so its probaly going to be next winter before you guys will even see walls up or a plywood body on the new rig.

I am not rushing and I am going to take time to get my shocks on my wheels first and my frame where I want it.

I am delibertly takeing my time on this build as I got time till the wedding. and I am using the lots of time to build it to get something really good out of it.

all I got for photos right now is what the old hay trailer looked like before I took the wood deck off it.

I got a door frame and its on the work bench getting window screen.

its green in color.

slow

Slow,
I think that's to Slow for me! I need this done asap so we can use it this summer. Since I work full time a fair trek from home my time with day light is limited! Is this coming out of your head or do you have some reference?
Rank amateur here trying to figure things out. Like what's best and cost effective for the undercoat. If it came from Lowe's I could pick it up quick and save a little! Any advise

I been pondering and welding and pondering on my frame the past few days. I had a bunch tacked together and finally bit the bullet and welded them solid. So parts of it is now beyond the stage that they can easily be knocked apart and redone.

The Command Post now has a skin made up of 1/4" hardwood plywood, topped with two layers of 6 oz fiberglass fabric, and 3 top coats of epoxy over that. Once the paint is on there, and doors, windows, and roof vent installed, I think she'll keep the water out :D

Jeff, if your vent and doors don't leak, you should be able to turn her upside down and use her as a boat!!! (I'm "in the same boat", pun intended.)

Yesterday got my electrical cord wired up, cabinet doors and shelf installed in the cabin. Today curtains made, lights installed in the cabin. Put the mattress in. The inside is done. I just need to get some linens and sew up my accent pillows. I'll do that this week. We're down to installing the trailer lights and hanging the hatch. (Hanging the hatch.....now there's 3 words that encompasses a whole mess of details.....)

I put in one more piece of bulkhead, bought a right angle drill attachment, and resolved to do the harbor freight tongue extension modification.
