Hung the yaks and rack yaks.

You know... if you pull into a camp next to me --with two 'yaks on your tow rig that's hitched to your camper that looks like it belongs on a magazine cover-- and then get out and grab a cold one from your cooler and pop the damn cap using your fancy-pants frame-mounted bottle opener --I'm just gonna look away.

Tore out a hunk of damaged sheetrock from the master suite we are remodelling, It covers an odd shaped corner that managed to get smashed moving stuff around. Cut and sized one patch for the corner area, sizing up the other side, cutting reinforcing boards to tie the patches into while I sand tape, and float the remaining product. I will be de-texturing this entire closet, using Kilz2 to hide the hunter green, and repaint in a grayish white paint that we got as a freebie. We need to massively lighten up the master vanity...

Today has already been, and is supposed to stay stormy. Might set up the Ensuite in the living room just to get the plumbing swapped over.

May set up the EZ Up in the back yard so I can cook outside. It is HOT, HUMID, and RAINY here right now. I do NOT want to introduce any added heat into the house... Am VERY seriously looking into converting our old deck into an outdoor kitchen space...

Checked out a free haul it away 1980s Palomino pop up camper that we ended up dragging back to a friends property. It's in shockingly good condition for its age, and free. No obvious rot, canvas in good shape, so big quandry presented. Inspect it as I get time to determine tear it apart, or fix it and use it... Too many choices!

Oh, and we threw a mess of penetrating oil at the leveling jacks. They move, but are crusty. Will try to get them freed up and moving well. Tear down and base a foamie off of it, or fix and use the pop up, I plan on using the leveling jacks so I don't roll out of bed...

Oddly enough, this leaves me with 2 pop ups. A 1980s Palomino, and a 96 Coleman Niagra. The Coleman has been mostly restored, and is slated to end up with a family member. It has a U dinette that won't work for me, and the family member has offered us a fair price for it... I keep resisting using a pop up due to heat and ground clearance issues. The Palomino is easier to mod to fix those problems for me than the Coleman...

Oh, and I managed to swap out the ensuite plumbing. I am literally ready to go with that

Cleaned up the shop enough to cut and assemble 4 picture frames.
I need to trim the splines in the morning. I ran out of time tonight.

After several months of sticking close to home I am happy to get back to camping since my bride is feeling better. So my first trip is about thirty minutes away at one of my favorite boondocking sites. I found the campsite I wanted vacant. I have some sun, some shade and a 180 degree view of Island Lake which I have explored via kayak.. I'm in heaven...

I made good use of my time at home refinishing the exterior walls, upgrading my old tongue box, painting the roof, oiling the galley cabinets, changing the mount for the tongue jack and upgrading to a third brake, turn, running light.

I'm surprised by the availability of sites here. It is usually quiet during the week but with all the campground crowding talk I'm happy to report this boondocking site is a pleasant surprise.

BTW, the photo in my signature is another site from last summer at Island Lake.

Wrote a how-to thread for the DIY LiFePO4 battery I recently made for my camper.

Not a lot of anything really. Ordered reflective paracord for replacement guylines to improve safety in camp.

SPent some time inspecting the new to me old as all get out Palomino pop up. As suspected, the wiring is questionable at best. It seems reasonably cared for, but chasing the wiring it seems that there are penetrations for the lighting where wires go through aluminum, with no grommet. Needless to say the insulation on the wiring is badly damaged and needs to be redone...

Opened the frige....

CLOSED the fridge...

Gonna remove and dispose of the fridge as is... Not sure what that furry stuff in there is but BLEH!
