Our galley doesn’t have water or an ice chest and that is taken care of with a small table. When traveling we didn’t want to have to remove our bikes to open up the galley to get things from the cooler when the tow vehicle is more convenient. The galley does have lots of storage for all our food and cooking gear including 2 drawers. All of our can goods are stored in plastic shoe boxes behind doors. The main counter top is 42" above level ground and between the doors & drawers are two slide out tops at 36" from level ground. With the slide out stove/oven combination and the slide out tops we have 3 different surfaces to work with and it works out to be a very efficient galley for one and sometimes two cooks. We are very pleased with our galley and with the Dutch Oven side table and alternate top it is complete for our needs. Since these photos were taken I've run one 12 volt DC plug & one 110 volt AC duplex plug above the stove on the back wall. We'll carry a tiny microwave when we have power or watch a movie outdoors on AC or DC. :D Danny

Here's what I use for a galley on my Hunter Shadow:

I do a lot of my cooking with Dutch ovens, so this galley is just the right size for everything else. The TD is a 4'x8'.

The rolltop cabinets work really well. The rolltop doesn't get in the way of the limited counter space. The only problem with them is that one of them is a bit sticky.

Try rubbing a little candle wax in the slot. I've done that on several occasions, works good.

Is that stove a Outback ???? If so, how do you like it?

wolfix, Yes it's an Outback and we like it a lot. It bakes a little hot since it's propane so we have to remember to lower the temperature 15 deg. or more. :) Danny

This post is crammed full of amazing galleys. Mine is based on the galley design by Camp-Inn. Most of the food and pans are stored below tip-up hatch lids. There are also exterior doors on each side of the trailer that access storage under the countertop. The cooler removes to gain access to a built in two burner stovetop. Water is gravity feed and ice can be added to the water. I will be making fabric bottle covers to block sunlight on the water supply. If the bottles sweat, they are on a rubber coated shelf to hold any drips. Trays and cutting boards store vertically behind the stainless breadbox drawer unit on the left. A small appliance can be made to work on the upper shelf on the left (where spices are shown) I am currently running the 12 volt wiring. The AC wiring is in the upper left. There will be extension tables.

Come on over to my camp site. I'll make some spaghetti. . .

We kept it pretty simple, and I find it pretty efficient, so here's our entry.....
The cupboard on the left holds dry foodstuffs and the one on the right holds all our pots, pans, plates and mugs. The drawers hold all the utensils. We added a paper towel holder and a 5lb propane tank fits nicely in the cupboard under the stove with a wash tub, broom and other items. The cooler is big enough to hold enough food for several days.

I think I have to steal the faux doors on the cooler idea.

By efficient, I assume you mean, low maintainance. My galley on the 1/4 Nelson Stacker LACKS a stove, a sink, a cooler, a toaster, an oven, a towel bar, a trash container, any under-counter cabinets, roll out drawers and work tops, elect outlets, TV, sound system, water, propane and all that stuff.

However it does have ample room for my feet below the counter, since my toes touch the hatch lid when I'm in bed. It is so basic that it dosen't even warrent a pic, but it sure is easy to clean, just a quick wipe of a small flat 12 x 40 inch surface with a damp paper towel. Will my prize be mailed to me? Thank you very much.

Well the entries are in and it's time to vote. Look through the entries and cast your vote for the most efficient use of galley space. Voting will end on April 15th. This contest was not just about who has the best galley, but to post pictures for others to see and get ideas from. For those of you who entered, thanks and good luck.
