I finally bought my new TV for the TD I don't have yet

After driving literally dozens of new cars/Suv's I came full circle back to my roots...... A PU truck.
I have driven trucks all my life, and each time I am without one, I miss the utility. I had bought HF trailer to use for haul duty, but my pursuit of a small 4 cyl TV has been fruitless.
ALL the vehicles I have driven were so gutless IMO I just couldn't bring myself to buy something that could hardly get out of it's own way, let alone tow a TD efficiently. Another thing I don't like about most of the new cars is the steering is vague with no feedback. I guess it's the electric power steering.
I could have gone with a 6 cyl, or diesel, but the cost was over what I was willing to spend. I ended up going through the worst winter in 10 years (180" of snow) with my old 1993 Olds wagon (woody). I was ready for a new ride soon!
I checked out more and more cars, I was unimpressed with most or they were out of my price range. I was taking a drive through a Nissan dealers lot, I had already eliminated the Rogue, and was going to try the Altima again to see if I could live with it.
A Black PU caught my eye, it was a 6cyl 4wd Frontier. So...... We gave it a try. Didn't like it! It felt too much like a big Chevy, Ford, or Dodge, just too big and not nimble on it's feet so to speak.
Upon bring that back, I spotted the same truck, but it was a plain jane, 2wd
5 speed. We wheeled out with this one, and both my wife and I looked each other at the same time, and said "this is it" I came back and asked if we could take a longer drive. The dealer went and got some gas, and we proceeded to take her on a 30 drive, 45 minute drive.
Almost everything we had been looking for was in this vehicle. The 5 speed really makes this vehicle feel like it has a lot more power than the HP would indicate. It sits only 1" shorter in overall height than the 4wd model, and it's much higher than all the other small 2 wd pu's. I like this high panoramic view. The extended cab is great for storage, but forget putting people in the jump seats.
Soo.........with the rebate, dealer incentives, etc. We bought the beast. So far it's been great. Only time will tell if it was a good move. I am not worried in the least about towing with this truck. I haven't checked MPG yet because it has a 21 gal tank that costs $80 to fill. Also, I want to get a couple thousand miles on it before checking. It did come with a full tank, but I have not filled it since.
I do appreciate all the input from you all, but I guess it all comes down to what feels right to me. I must be destined to drive PU's till I die!! This is my 8th.
Now........ I need to find a replacement for the "Woody"
Thanks,
