Verna wrote:Is there someway you can put an upholstered pad above the door, or even just a swimming noodle to protect yourself?

Because of the way the door fits, I cannot put a padded barrier in, but I did cut a noodle down to just press-fit into the opening. I am going to keep it next to the door, and put it in place when the door is open. Hopefully, I will just get into the habit of putting in in place when the door is opened.
Verna wrote: I really, really hate the sight of blood

After many years in the medical field, the sight of blood doesn't bother me, with one exception- it's my blood, and the appearance was, while foreseen by a normal person, shall we say, "unplanned"

In a somewhat Zen mode, I "put a little bit of me" into everything I do, whether it is repairing an engine, sliding down a rock face, building a cabinet, etc. My body is a roadmap of "experience". Kind of one of those, been there, done that, used the t-shirt as a tourniquet.

A lot of the ladies do, or have done, scrapbooking and have those Cricut machines that cut vinyl letters and shapes. I would think that would work. You would have to make sure the vinyl is UV protected. ( or rated )
If you know somebody that has one they are usually willing to run it if you buy the vinyl.

Just a thought.

I have a friend that couldn't remember what teardrops were called when I was doing my build so she asked how my jelly bean was coming along. It fit being candy apple red so we call her "The Jelly Bean". I might get a Jelly Belly decal on it.

The Bee and stripe look great. :applause: I thought pin striping by hand was a lost art. It's good to see it is still being done. It takes a steady hand and a lot of experience to do good pin-striping!

If you want to skip reading the first 5 pages:
miss piggy, road foamie, super bee, Kody's, moto mate, not used but great name "gas chamber", sweekin, compass rose, sweetpotato, doodle bug, woodbago, standrop, slomobile, zoe's bonz, silver beatle, 1/2 nelson woody, 1/4 nelson stacker, storm warning, interstate explorer, escaped2, eggbert, chubby,
barn to be wild, gertrude, monstro, toroweep, squidget, butthut, hyprno-toad, little swiss teardrop, the jelly bean.

some names are Obvious ie: compass rose
some names are Obscure ie: toroweep
some names are just funny ie: butthut
but all either Chosen or they just fit ie: silver beatle they are all great names and they are attached to equally great trailers.
a tip of the hat to one and all. :pinktear:

what I been kicking around for the camper I want to build is Max. Headroom. Max. is short for Maximum
and Headroom is the Pop-Up ideal of the camper. I like Max Headroom and love to have a vinyl decal of
Max on the back. Not sure if I will go out on a full Max headroom theme,l but it might be fun. Don’t want
to get sued by Coke. Hahahah

I remember being in England and all the Canal Long Boats ( Narrow Boat ) had names, Like ships and boats.
The long boats were like floating RV’s

I'd been trying to come up with a name I liked for a long time and this thread inspired me to really get on it.

So, my border collie 'Tosh' goes with me everywhere. He loves the camper; so much that I decided to go with a Scooby Doo theme inside with curtains, sheets, and fridge magnets.

Therefore.... The 'Tosh-Mahal' will be the official name. Not sure that Tosh will take it as much of an honor, but I got a kick out of it.

Roly Nelson wrote:After spending 1/2 of my time designing and re-designing, and since my name is Nelson, I just had to call my all-wood teardrop, the 1/2 Nelson Woody. The 1/4 Nelson Stacker soon followed close behind. No, there is no 1/8th Nelson, unless you count the 3x3, wheel-less levitator. Since they get progressively smaller, the next one will be invisible.

I guess "I" oughta "splain the naming of the two trailers I've had.. The first was a 2005 Little Guy 4 wide and I had a family contest to name that one.. My brother named it the "canned-o-minimum"( Hence, my name here) The second and current trailer is an Eriba,Puck trailer straight from Germany. It weighs 620lbs dry and is approximately 6x10. I tow it (as I did the teardrop) with my vintage 1965 VW beetle. I call the Puck, "The Fun House"

There's a ton of good names! I refer to ours as the Dutch Oven or the "Cramper"
