Modstock. It seems they do not sell out to fast. And in the past they have sold them at some places around SLC. If they are not sold out you can buy them at the gate. I think they are about $90, Includes camping spot and portapots. Also a great big pond that has those pedicure fish in it. You can dip your feet in there and watch the fish eat the skin. Kind of tickles.

I could not agree with you more. Growing up here in southern Idaho, Northern Colony Utah, scarred me for life. I would have to say that there is not as much "hedonistic" behavior as one would expect. Or I just did not look hard enough. Yes there is more than one usually finds.

I went in 2009 and had a blast. As with anything it is what you make of it.I took a barrel of water with a pump and made a shower and left it in the back of the truck. Don't ask me how much water we used because everyone around us kept pouring water into it and using it. I had a warm shower every night before bed.

Hmmmmm. It doesn't sound like my cup of tea. I get mental pictures if Woodstock. I like the quiet of the woods and the sound of the wind.

Wow!! I'm so sorry vie missed this thread for so long.

Randy and I have camped together at BM with another friend (has a nice pop-up) and plan to do so again this year.

Our Camp is Called Trailer Trash Camp. We are not big enough to have theme camp or placement status. We're hoping to be in the 3-4 neighborhood, and welcome any other Teardroppers to join us.

We hope to arrive sometime Sunday...

Will post a hot pink sign on bulletin board at center camp/playa info, maybe post a sign on a nearby street corner. Will also register on the computer at playa info with our location.

Michelle and I are meeting this week to make some plans. We will possibly do a cheese and beer tasting, and cook waffle dogs for breakfast one day. I'll update here if I can.

We'd love to have you join us. Let us know so we can try and corral enough space, and if you're bringing a shade thingy.
I'll try and post a pic of our camp last year,..( don't hold your breath...)

Let's discuss things here and make a plan. See you soon! :wine:

I applied for and received theme camp status and placement... we have only 6 people in 3 vehicles. Our requested size was 50'x75', and received 50'x100'. You should put in a theme camp application next year. Minimum size for placed theme camp is 2 people!

Come by Jipangu @ 5:45&D from 1pm-4pm tue-thurs for green tea or cold sake. If we're in camp outside of those hours we'll have the refreshments on hand, so come on in and say hello.

I am aiming to arrive late Sunday, early Monday. The way I drive it is about a 11-12 hour drive.

Jim, that's good to know. Earlier in the year I had other plans, but will definitely look into this next year. Will definitely come by your camp and say hi. Try to find us as well, especially once we have "a plan."

you can play 'where's the teardrop' in this youtube video... there are some interesting-looking teardrops (or tiny trailers) hidden in the sea of RVs.

 Way to get a ticket!

You'll have a good time.

I took 15 gallons of water and only used 10. I found I could walk fast behind the water truck that was spraying the roads/paths with a bar of soap, so free showers were more fun and I saved water.

Your tow vehicle and trailer will get extremely dusty, so don't take your best stuff. Be sure to take a bicycle, preferably a beater.

No need to take any vodka. Everything is free at Burning Man, so beware the spiked watermelon! No need to wear any clothes either, maybe just a loin cloth while riding the bicycle. Not kidding. :embarassed:

This party is worth doing at least once. (That's how many times I've done Burning Man. I prefer The Oregon Country Fair.)
My goal...

Sorry it took me so long to get onto this thread. The summer really got away from me!

The Sunflower and her crew will be heading out to BM on August 27th and we are hoping to be around 3:00 and I or J. I will keep an eye out for your pink sign and Trailer Trash Camp TupeloSue and Randy! 8)

We have two large pagoda QuickShades with walls that shelter the teardrop and create our living room and kitchen area. You can see more on my blog:

http://tinyyellowteardrop.blogspot.com/2012/12/the-sunflower-goes-to-burning-man.html

If this is your first time going, orient your camp so that the south and the west part of your camp is protected and shaded. This is where most of the wind and dust comes from. However, with this weird summer we've been having...you never know what we'll get. I heard it might be 20 degrees cooler this year...maybe.
