brown paper bag floor?

i have had no problem with putting poly directly on my blue foam walls.

i have been (well i stopped for a while, other things to do), but i have been adding quilter's fabric blocks to my foam walls. i know i am using thin fabric vs paper. one thing i did notice, the fabric soaked material does not stay as well on the wall. so i started to paint the wall first with the poly, then painted/soaked the fabric and added it to the wall. worked better.
so you might want to coat the poly first on the foam then the paper and add it. as far as dry time, i don't think you really have to wait long, i never did. this poly stuff seemed to dry very quickly.

this is just my opinion, but i think soaking the paper like gpw mentioned, is a possibility, but i don't think its needed and it might just use up more poly that way.

this is a work in progress, it is not done yet.

That is so stinking cool. GPW, TBII would discolor the fabric and paper, but if the tint was one you wanted, I don't see why it wouldn't work. We'd hafta have a test.

Since I'm planning on wallpapering with fabric, I'm interested to see how this turns out. :)

Just an Artist trick , You could tint the glue or poly to make a colored “Glaze” , the one color of the glaze giving a harmonious unifying look to all the colors ... Just another idea ...
There’s no place like Foam !

:applause: Woo Hoo , this is so cool Now I know what I want to do with the inside of my micro trailer " bicycle camper " . I just need to find all that construction paper I hid because the wife wanted me to throw it out . Now I'll use it and recycle any that's left over .

Mary the floors you and Eagle made both look great . :D I'm going to use that paper on the inside of the bicycle trailer I finally started on back on Friday . It's not really a build so much as one long experiment .

Didn't Mary make one with the brown paper " craft " and then put paper leaves on it ? Am I thinking of someone else ? It looks great . Eagle if you still need more of the quilting squares you could try " Freecycle.org " . You might find someone trying to give away their extras or get out of quilting . They have local chapters all over the world and all you do is post things you don't want anymore or you need . I'm willing to do yard sales or Ebay to get rid of stuff but many times it's easier just to give it away . Including broken things . Lots of recycling going on .

http://www.freecycle.org/

Welcome! The Freecycle Network™ is made up of 5,091 groups with 9,293,527 members around the world. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (and getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by local volunteers (them's good people). Membership is free. Oh wow, love the teardrop covered in maps and the teardrop floors! I love decopage and collages, and while I haven't done anything as large as a floor, I've covered a lot of smaller stuff over the years. A previous poster mentioned not having enough paper bags from shopping. If you go over to Ebay, and key in "brown wrapping paper", there's a lot of different sellers with various prices (some include free shipping), weight of papers, length, etc. Amazon may have it too.

Edit: I checked at Amazon,----they have the big rolls of brown wrapping paper of different weights, some with "free shipping"! :)

Brown wrapping paper, is sometimes coated with wax on one side. You don't want the wax coated kind as the wax will interfere with the polyurethane adhesion. Plain, uncoated kraft paper. or some sort of construction paper, etc is best.
