The rim is located on the axle now. Had to make a "few" adjustments with shims & bushings to center the rim, after trimming it to fit. The brake disc doesn't fit (the "standard" one for this 13" rim) due to pie-pan shape, offset & the narrow forks, so the new disc is larger in diameter. I need to mount the caliper closer to the hub, so I'm reworking the bracket by moving it inboard about 1/2" & adding a 0.30" thick shim to push it closer to the center-line of the 3mm thick disc. Next week it should be finished for this part of the build, once I get the new disc.

DE CONSTRUCTION

Cutting out drywall and redoing my lighting in the "office". Tired of working in my shadow. I need to disconnect the computer. the TV, the DVD and CD player and move out the desk. All a big pain in the butt in such a small space. It may be put off until I can simply take the desk back outside. ( Come on spring )

After disassembling the ceiling fan completely and removing it to pull new wire to replace the one the squirrels chewed in half. I found out yesterday that the extra heavy extension cord that was in easy reach was what the fuzzy tailed tree rats actually chewed in two. So now I get to balance the 15 pound monster in one hand and use my other two ( ) to install the wire nuts and rehang the damn thing.

I also tested out my $12.50 yard sale surround sound 7 speaker system by hooking it up and attempting to use the AM FM tuner that is built into the unit to enjoy the new sound with a test. All I get is a 60 cycle hum with the radio faintly playing in the background. :x

I need to make some tube fit tube at 90 and some other angles to join and weld together, I will be cutting by hand; hopefully not my hand.

The van DC side is almost done, all the controllers are programmed and talking to each other. I still have some control wiring and wire management to do. Tomorrow I start working on the AC distribution, hopefully I can start charging the batteries by EOD.

bdosborn,

WoW! That looks great!

What is the:

1. Gray square unit on the upper right?

2. Blue rectangular unit just to the left of the left charger controller?

3. Blue square unit just below the red cut off switch?

Thanks

Wow.. very nicely done. Victron is the best stuff and your work looks so professional.

How many aH of batteries and watts of solar panels do you have?

MidNite Solar Baby Box Enclosure for 150V DC circuit breakers. I went with the real deal PV circuit breakers. They're not that expensive and you don't have to worry about what your panel voltage gets up to with them.

2. Blue rectangular unit just to the left of the left charger controller?

Victron battery protect for the DC/DC and PV charge controllers. The BMS I'm using will disconnect the chargers via the battery protect when it gets below freezing or if a cell voltage goes wacky or too high.

3. Blue square unit just below the red cut off switch?

Victron battery protect to disconnect the DC loads from the battery if the voltage goes below 11.5V.

The Cerbo GX unit networks them over the internet so I can sit on the couch and see what the electrical system is doing.

Those are 200 A-H CALB cells in 2P4S, so 400 A-H total. I'm going with 620W of Newpowa solar panels: two 210W and two 100W. The 210W will be in series and controlled by the Victron MPPT but the 100W panels will be in parallel and connected directly to the battery via a switch that's controlled by the BMS. I'm experimenting with a new type of PV controller that's supposed to be more efficient as it doesn't do any conversion of voltage. That's why I'm going with the Newpowa panels, they have a MPP voltage that's low enough to connect directly to the batteries. Hope it work. :worship:

I bricked the Multiplus Compact inverter yesterday when it shut off in the middle of a firmware update.
Fixed it today. Thank goodness Victron has a firmware flashing tool that saved me! :P

Trust me, your inverter start up will not go well if you put a 30A fuse on the DC side instead of a 300A.

So I couldn’t find a 1 1/4 router guide, and I ordered one months ago, only to be refunded my money, I decided to make one at work. Image

Bruce, Great job on the system. I envy people who have that much electrical talent.. sure glad I was able to go simple.
I still haven't been able to finish my solar yet. Working on ideas for a rack for the top of the van. :NC
I've been watching for a log for your van.
Stay safe, David

really nice layout, Bruce. I get really inspired looking at other's Victron components. I'll have to wait to put my components into action.... but between you and lfhoward I'll have a lot of good reference material to learn from :)
