Epoxy Filler

I worked on the outside of the teardrop for a little bit until the rain came. I used epoxy filler on the holes and gaps, etc...

So far this feels like an excellent product for something that is going to be subjected to the elements. It went on like a thick icing.



Tomorrow I plan on getting out there with a sander and sanding everything smooth. I'll let you guys know how that works out. So far the CPES, Epoxy filler, and Urathane Paint seems like it's going to be easier than aluminum.

Mike! Don't sand!! Epoxy that is not fully cured is very bad for the skin and especially the respiratory system. Scrape as much as you can with a paint or cabinet scraper. If you MUST sand, wait a few days, wear a respirator and gloves. Work outside if you can.
Scraping will go well in the first day or two, while the product is still green. You'll be suprised at how smooth you can get!
Not trying to be an alarmist, just know that an epoxy reaction is nasty!
Double check the MSDS info if you have it!

Thanks for the reminder Steve. I'll be sure to wear a respirator.

Supposedly it has a full chemical cure within 24 hours. But I'll test a spot first. And yes, it'll be outside. And if it's raining, I'll wait.

Say Mike, looks like the same stuff I used before skinning the Scotsman. It sand great. I sanded mine about 24 hours after I applied it and like that I wore a mask. Mine wasn't more than 1/8" thick at the thickest places.
