Got the Tear finished up this week! Started it the first week of September, finished it the second week of March. It's 5 feet wide, 4 feet tall, 8 feet long. Runs on both 110v and 12v and has dual deep cycle batteries w/onboard charger. The interior is complete with a 8in flat panel LCD screen connected to a tv tuner and DVD player. Total cost of the build was $1,400. Hopefully I will get a chance to take it soon, I can't wait!

Woo-Hoo! It's SUCH a relief when you finally get it done! (Can you tell we didn't find the build all that much fun?)

Love the running boards, AND the windows, AND the doors (the shape is GREAT), AND especially love the width! It's going to be SO comfortable for you!

AND the price! I just love that just about anyone can afford to build one and enjoy camping with something other then a tent. This is so important for people on a limited budget. If we hadn't built our own, we couldn't have had one and without it, I just plain wouldn't be camping.

Good job! :applause:

It's beautiful. We love the exterior. Do you have pictures of the interior and galley?

Enjoy!

Very nice

What did you use to seal the exterior? Pictures of the inside would be cool.......does it have a galley?

I like the way you did the door and window in a wood frame....makes me think about the way I want to do mine.

Great job!!

MyJeep,

Very nice looking. I like the woody sides. May I ask what you used to cover the top?

Looks like I need to take some more pictures of the completed galley and interior. This picture shows the kitchen almost done minus the flooring and just pretend that one loose wire isn't there!

The roofing is 1/8" ply that has been painted and seamed in the middle with a vinyl trim strip. The exterior is sealed with Skippers Spar varnish, 8 coats to be exact! Came out pretty good considering I'm a 21yr old builder!

That's really got a unique look. I like it a lot. It looks rustic and simple but after looking at the pictures in your profile, it has some fine workmanship too. It's another good example of how you can keep it simple and still have a trailer that is a real eye turner...something to be proud of. I like that philosophy which a lot of the members here share.
