Portable Power Pack Inverters.

Postby len19070 » Wed Mar 02, 2011 10:14 am

Anybody got a good line on a cheap Portable Power Pack Inverter?

I don't need any more than 3-400 watts.

I only use it occasionally for patio lights when I don't have 110V available.

I had a nice one but somebody decided they liked it more than me!

Thanks in advance.

Happy Trails

Harbor Freight has a 400w continuous 800 watt peak on sale for 29.99 and then there's the 20% off coupons floating out there too.

Good luck.

Many truck drivers use the smaller inverters. You might find one (albeit expensive) at the larger truck stops.

Thank you for your input....but I'm not looking for just an inverter.

I'm looking for a self contained Battery/inverter (and what ever else they include in it i.e. 12V jumper cables, air compressor, flash light, 12V charger)

I bought one from Pepboys and it works great but if you leave it outside it will be dead in the morning. Not sure why it drains down when left outside but if you keep it inside till you need it it works fine. I did have to hook two up to my battery last year when I drained my car battery down, it just was not enough to jump. here is the one I bought from Pepboys auto store

I picked up a 400w unit at Wal-Mart for 30$ last summer. End of season close out down from 75$. The main thing I use it for was power for my radio/CD player. Its good for a couple of days on a charge.

I am also using Harbor Freight Power Pack Inverter, very nice, cheap and compact design, Very satisfied from this products, It has a 400w continuous 800 watt peak on sale for nearly 30 and then there's the some discount as well. So it think best deal.

I have a Schumacher IP 1850FL that has 18 amp. hours of battery power. Comes with an LED light that plugs into the lighter type plug. Haven't tried to see how long the light will last but I believe it would burn for a good while. Haven't found the draw on the light yet so I'll have to test the light the old fashioned way. I think it usually sells for about $100 these days at hardware stores.
