Radioactive plume hits Nor. Cal!!!!

Postby doug hodder » Fri Mar 18, 2011 11:49 pm

It hit today, late afternoon....and it took the form of a "nuclear winter". Here I am with no lead foil hat, iodide pills or anything....'cept some Coleman crap and the mantles are probably radioactive anyway....Hopefully it will be followed by a severe warm wave so I don't have to go out and shovel it off in the morning.....

Hey, Doug!

That's what my driveway & parking lot looked like at 9:00 this evening ... only it was hail! ...
(We must've gotten the solid waste part of it before it got to you ... :D ...)

Sure hope they don't do a fly over my home looking for radiation - all them old mantels may just signal a hot spot ;)

Crimany, there goes the rest of my hair.

When I was part of the training team for radiation safety in the lab, we'd use coleman mantles for radioactivity scan test surveys (hide them places).

With that said, and having won an obscene amount of mantles for a low, low price on fleabay... I, too, am probably a hotspot for radioactivity! eep!

Unlike some of my other lantern/Coleman addicted forum buds, I cannot make a landing strip out of my collected lanterns (yet).

This could be serious!! I can understand a wimpy deer succumbing to the fallout but those raccoons are tough. I can't seem to find any lead foil. Will aluminum foil work or am I going to have to break into my dentist's office to get one of those aprons?

Jerome....you might try getting a whole lot of split shot sinkers and crimping them to some fishing line attached to a womans swim cap...for that Bo Derek look in the movie "10". Don't forget your lead merkin either! Doug

 :shhh: Not Aluminum foil. That won't work! You have to get tin foil. Now some of you guys should know this stuff.

I for one am grateful this is not more serious to us than it is. And about that fall out  How do you know that wasn't caused by all that irradiated milk when yous guys were kids? 8) ;)

I can't help but wonder what fear there was during the mid 40’s and early 50’s when we dropped the two bombs on Japan and did all the 'A' bomb testing in the pacific and Nevada. Yes bomb shelters were built. But that was in case Russia came over here and bombed us.

PS: And yes, I know this is a joke thread but I was just wondering.
