New hatch question

New hatch question

When building the hatch is the horizontal or vertical ribs better? I have seen pictures of both styles done but never heard a reason for either way.
Is one way better than the other? if so why?

I have always used a combination of both... but I start with the vertical ribs...

Why? Cause it's easier to follow the profile and make it fit correctly!

I guess that makes since, I am building a grass hopper, I thought I should use vertical ribs, sound right?
