Have any of you invested in one of those countertop ice makers? Are they worth the money or is it overkill?

I had one for my home, and one for my office.

Pros: they make these ring-shaped cubes that are great in drinks. They make ice pretty fast.

Cons: They don't keep the ice frozen.

Overall, I liked mine. One died, a coworker took the other one home when we closed the office to work from home.

I may get another one some day.

Mine were from EdgeStar, but are EXACTLY like the Emerson. http://www.amazon.com/Countertop-Portab ... pd_sim_k_3

One was grey, and the other was stainless.
