Yep, that show has probably been a starting point for a lot of people, me included. My wife and I saw it, and it said something about teardrops being based on a 4x8' frame. Our hallway in our house is 4' wide, so we went and laid down in the hallway to see how cramped it would be. That's when she decided it should be 5x10' instead. Halfway through the build, she named it "the coffin", and has yet to spend a night in it, but my son loves it.

I've not yet started down the Coleman road to ruin, but I do have a few stoves and lanterns that are used occasionally, and one stove is used regularly.

I have two dutch ovens so far and would like to get a 10" if I can find one sometime. I didn't cook with the DO until recently and am still a rank beginner, but some amazing food can come out of that cast iron. I still cook more on the campstove and grill over the fire though.

I have always loved camping, but as I get older, my back appreciates a mattress more than sleeping on the ground in a tent. When people ask about my teardrop, I tell them it's like a hardsided tent with a kitchen.

I'm going to my first gathering in a few weeks and hope to meet up with some of the regulars on here. I'm looking forward to it.

I don't have cable, and don't watch TV...so I've never seen it..except for some clips someone pointed me to about 6 weeks ago.

I"m into mid century stuff..the design is great and they don't make stuff now like they used to. After camping outside Portland in a tent, I decided I had a good reason to get a classic trailer. I ended up with the Aristocrat, decided it was just way more than I needed, and downsized to a similar 70's look with the Grasshopper. So I was on the vintage trailer bandwagon for awhile (and always liked teardrops..but was concerned with theft.) Now I'm doing some repairs and cleaning, and will start learning how to live the teardrop lifestyle..everything with a purpose, but things can be attractive as well as functional.

We'll all see how well that goes at the Dam!!

Yes...it's little, but it's there...cushions fold up to seats on either side of the trailer, and there is a drop down table. so there is a tiny dinette. Fold up the table against the galley wall inside, fold out the cushions...queen bed. Since the inside is rectangular it doesn't have that under the galley area where you put your feet. It's just a mini room. I have pictures from the last owner and will get pictures as soon as I start putting it back together after the hatch replacement episode this weekend.

So it's not just a bed on wheels with a galley in the back. It's a really cool design.

You coming up for the Dam? IRG??

I'll post pictures in about a week. I want MY pictures. Tomorrow I start with the hatch replacement project. I'm hoping it goes quicker than I think it will. After I pick up the hatch I'll try for curtain tabs at RV DR George's..if I'm lucky, he will have what I need and by next weekend I'll be driveway camping. I'm thinking once I do that it might be hard to pry me out of that trailer until winter.

I'm so looking forward to it I'm ditching my scooter club meeting tonight and the scooter show on Sat. Gotta get the Grasshopper ready to roll.

Had a nice surprise today..got home from work and one vintage lawn chair was rewebbed in 70's orange and white to go with the theme..and all shined up. Looks new.

Can't wait for the Dam. I'll need Benadryl tonight to sleep..too many projects in my head to do before the Dam, and not much time to do them!!
