Asking for help-Inside pictures added 4/25

Postby Gage » Wed Apr 18, 2012 12:14 am

Yep, the hardest thing for me to do was asking for help. With my breathing condition not getting any better, I had to admit to myself that I needed help in finishing off my Field and Stream. All that needed to be done was adding the installation and inner skins. Hang the table inside and add a battery box to the tongue. The trailer has been sitting like this for over a year now (although we have been using it). Tanya finially talked me into asking for help. Asked Bob Ross, he is a good friend and helped me in the beginning, if he wouldn't mind finishing off the Field and Stream for me and he said no problem. Except for hanging the table and installing the battery box, it's now finished. Only took him a couple of days.

Just goes to show you. No mater how good you may be, sometimes you just have to bit the bullet and ask for help.
Pictures to follow.

And by the way, Bob & Cindy have a web site. They will locate, buy, sale, trade and restore trailers.

Gage,
Glad to hear that your trailer is basically finished.

That should make it more enjoyable taking it out.

Asking for help can be a hard thing to do, but when it is needed it is needed. I always look at it as at some points in life, a person gives help and at other points needs help. Plus a friend feels more like a friend when they can help a friend in need.

I look forward to seeing the trailer finished.
Martha ;)

Gage pride can make us do things we shouldn't
asking for help when we need it doesn't lower ones pride it raises ones trust in others.
I get the feeling from reading the posts on this site that all would help if possible.
when I said something about not being able to build I received several offers from folks
who live near me to help in anyway they could.
so to have help finishing your Field and Stream trailer so that you can camp is great.
besides it gives the helper that warm and fuzzy feeling.
one day I hope to see your trailer in person.

We also need to consider that when we refuse to ask for help we are denying others the opportunity to give and serve which makes most people feel very good. Let your friends feel good!!

Gage that is a wonderful looking trailer. Glad you are getting it finished. Yup, asking for help is often hard. Remember, we are only temporarily enabled. Couple of years ago had my right shoulder operated on. got tired of asking a friend to drive me around and I started driving a bit to early, Ended up in a ditch and probably worked the shoulder a bit to early. Didn't do any damage when I went in the ditch.

I remember well a song, Love is a Magic Penny by Malvina Reynolds http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FB5Z_30xSe8 and the lyrics include love is like a magic penny if you give it away you end up having more. In a society that seems all too often based on "pay backs" one of the greatest joys is giving expecting nothing in return and as pointed out that means there needs to be a recipient willing to accept. It was only a few years back that It really hit me, it is not that love/help returned, it is that 'You' have more to give.
One of the things I like about this forum is the willingness of folks to help, expecting nothing in return.

Now that there is nothing more to do to the inside, I consider it finished. What do you all think?

Looking Good! Do you know what you want done for the battery box? Should be as simple as adding a couple welded braces on, and drilling a hole to the interior using a grommet. Will you add a converter?
Why just dance, when you can Salsa!
