I represent the Harford County Public Library and we are desperately looking for a vintage teardrop or other tiny caravan/camper to display as part of an exhibition at one of our libraries this spring (from May to July 6). We have a Smithsonian exhibition coming in and we are adding to that with a look at our local hospitality trade on Rt 40 in the 50's-70's. one of the things we would like to display is a vintage (or even retro) teardrop. I came across your website today and thought it was worth a short note to see if you might have any leads on a Maryland dealer/enthusiast/etc. If you can give me any leads, I would love to hear from you!

Ok Lenny and anyone else who might be interested....I talked with the POC this morning and she is looking to have a vintage teardrop on display from May 19th - July 6th inside the library in Belcamp, Maryland.

Anyone have an extra teardrop that they might be willing to put on display. The lady sounds very flexible and would allow a business sign or something about the owner.

She is anxious so give me a call and I'll go see her in person or give her info out to anyone interested.

I live near there, unfortunately the only hospitality trade on Rt 40 in present-day is of the hourly variety.
Previously (before I95 was built), it was the road that connected Baltimore and Philadelphia so there are a lot of old, interesting businesses in the area.

I'll definitely stop in to see whoever's tear ends up on display.

The teardrop or camper that we come up with will be on disaply inside the Abingdon Library, which is a fairly new facility and very nice.

Any takers out there with an extra camper....????
