Good point. CampInn ultra 560 Raindrop

I really wanted to build, but my time would have been spent building rather than using the trailer for its intended purpose. Id rather camp.

We looked at several makers, and none of then clicked. Either too boxy, or looking cheap...and some boxy and cheap.

Regardless, I have an expected delivery day in June....now I'm looking for a getaway where there is room between camp sites, and a sense of solitude...

I'm open to suggestions.

Gerry, I like Hardin Ridge, down at Monroe Reservoir--lots of trees, lots of 4-legged wildlife, nice remodeled bathrooms (two loops still need the new bathrooms). Paynetown seems to be more of a party place, not my style, either.

I like Summitt Lake, but there are a lot of close camp sites. I go because I like the quiet lake.

I'll come up with some more by sumner's end.

That would be a 160 and I'd rather have a Corvair powered CH750

Oh, how I wish I could!!! We ordered it around Christmas, as an anniversary gift to each other....the last few months have been tough waiting. June 22 is our schedules trip to Wisconsin to pic it up...

I know we're planning a trip to Mackinac this August, and it sounds like some good weekend getaways around here. But I
We'll be at some of the tear jerker enents later in the summer...considering the "crawl" through the UP of Michigan.

When are the local events besides the one you mention and the shiveree?

What's cool, is that now we are in the build stage, and the guys at CampInn put photos on he web to watch it come together....

Looking there now....

With a teardrop, can you get access to the tent spots, or are you limited to RV. Fist Tiny trailer. Not sure what to expect ...

I'm glad it's a teardrop. They're way cooler than airplanes anyway. Congrats.

As a pilot, I'd have to disagree with you....but I will say for my finance, its far more practical.

The thought of camping under a wing some where in Canada where he closest cell tower is 2 hours away has its own appeal.

But at $6 a gallon and with ridiculous maintenance costs....my campinn makes a lot more sense.

Jazzed

Postby Verna » Thu May 03, 2012 7:17 am

Gerry, I don't have an answer about using tent spots for teardrops. I'm sure DNR has has a toll free number you could call with questions.

The 3rd campground I couldn't remember the name of is Harmony State Park. It's west of Evansville, near Mount Vernon, on the Wabash River. Nice for bicycling on the park--I came face to face with a doe about 20 years ago!!

I stayed one night in the tent camping area then. I don't exactly remember how large the camp sites were, nor anything about the "RV" spots.

Hovey Lake is a nice fishing spot near there. You fish in the middle of a cypress tree forest!!!! I don't think you can camp there.

Gerry, I don't have an answer about using tent spots for teardrops.

Most state and national parks it is against park rules to park vechiles off camping pads. something about damage to the vegetation /veg·e·ta·tion/ (vej″ĕ-ta´shun) any plantlike fungoid neoplasm or growth; a luxuriant fungus-like growth of pathologic tissue. so i would assume that parking a teardrop trailer would not be allowed, unless of course there is no vegetation  then you might as well camp at wal-mart

These little things fall in the cracks. they aren't RVs thy aren't tents and he trailer spots might as well be an RV. I hate sitting next to or between two class A's

Not sure how to classify when makng reservations. I'm picking POP UP in most cases because the sizes are similar
