USA - Pacific - OZ

Postby Lancie49 » Fri May 11, 2012 7:02 am

Hey, just had this posted on a forum I spend a bit of time on.
I know it's not TD related but since many of you ppl might have a bit of knowledge regarding the topic, I figured we could start up a Over the Pacific discussion and make some new mates.

Hiring a motorhome in the USA 2013
by JnK ยป Fri May 11, 2012 9:14 pm
We have a rough idea to visit USA in 2013 and hire a motorhome for approx 30 days or so - don't have any contacts who can provide info so all our research is internet based.
Has anyone done this and can provide info regarding choice of providers?
Thanks
John

It was my post that Lance submitted - we are active caravanners in Aust and he thought we may be able to tap into this forum expertise.....
Our idea is to visit the US in 2013 and hire a camper van or motorhome for around 30 days or so. We feel this will provide the most flexibility and allow us to change any itinerary to suit our mood or opportunity.
Probably the best for us is to fly into and out of LA, as that is easiest to get to from OZ.
Rough plan is to do a loop out of say LA and drive across country following Route 66, then looping back - in the time available.
We don't have any itinerary of fixed ideas as we have just started research.
Ideally I am looking for input into a competitive and reputable hire company to get a budget together and kick off our planning.
Any thoughts or assistance will be appreciated.
Thanks
