a new trailer frame for Cap't Jonny

Cap't Jonny here

Just bought a new trailer frame .

It's from a pop up that someone already stripped.

Dimensions
15ft total length incl. split rear bumpers.
Main frame 75" w x 118" l x 4" c channel
torsion axle w/ 155r 12 tires that look new and electric brakes.

I sold the Grasshopper clone i just bought for a $400 profit and bought this one for $320 so so far I am ahead of the game.

I am planning to build a rear entry with standing headroom under a large hatch in the rear galley area sort of like a Compac 11 . I am sure I will have lots of questions. Right now I am having fun looking at it and dreaming.

By the way how do you attach your picture to your posts. Not the trailer pics your "avatar"

There are so many ways that I could use this frame it is hard to decide what to do. I could cut off the outriggers and the main frame rails are like 53" wide. so I could make it a teardrop. I could cut off the rear of the frame to the first cross member and the frame would be about 8 ft long but the axle would only be about 2 ft from the back. I could build the coachwork over the A frame in front about 1 ft without any interference with my truck and make it 11 ft long.

I really want something bigger than a teardrop with some standing headroom but light enough to tow with a 4 cyl pick up.

Decisions decisions!

Capn’ , you might want to meander over to the Foamies thread and look around .... Easy to add a Big , but Light cabin on your trailer with no mods necessary ...Thrifty too ... Crumbs for thought !!!
