Does this Qualify as a TTT????

Postby 07rascal » Wed May 16, 2012 7:46 pm

This is our new (to us) purchase.....We were wondering if it qualified at a TTT to keep us on this forum???

It is made by Columbia Northwest the same mfg that make the A-liners. Its box is only 11' long not including the storage compartment on the tongue and its only 80" wide. Weighs in under 1500 lbs so the 4 cyl in our Escape will handle it without too much struggle. The door is in the back of the trailer, like a truck camper. I can stand up in it which is a huge difference for us!

What say ye? Will we still be welcome on the forum?? :worship: :)

Bad news... You have got the disease. The good news is, there's no known cure.

To quote Curly of Three Stooges fame: "Soyntantly!"

Any small, esp. light weight, trailer/towable RV [etc.] is a TTT whether it
is home crafted or factory built in my view.

The forum is TDs AND TTTs. [And it is also generous enough to
include/allow other variations of camping creations for those enthusiastic
enough to share them here. While the emphasis is on TDs and TTTs, its
priority is on friendship and an enjoyable sharing and camping experience I'd say.]

Cheers,
Norm/mezmo

Ya kinda but it is more an M-TTT. Manufactured Tinny Travel Trailer. More a standy then a teardrop. I have heard of events where only TD's were allowed, but not for a long time. Not everyone can make they're own trailer. and there are several the have M-'TD's
The IRG is trying to keep it down to little trailers we had one larger trailer but it was a family get-to-gether and the rest of the family had new home built TD's
So it will be up to the hosts of the gatherings to what can and can not be allowed.
I would say you have the hearts of T&TTT folks and that is what really matters .... who know maybe you will join those who have 2 trailers.
I only know that it is not what you see on the outside that counts it is the inside the big hearted fun folks that are all T&TTT minded. :ilovecamp: :vroom: :peace:

Cool beans! I have been around here enough years lurking and posting to know we have a good bunch of guys and gals on this forum! You, included Mike! :R So I was guessing that it qualified!! Lisa and I have not gotten to many if any gatherings over the years, seems our timing has never been right. But I have sure gained tons of knowledge from the folks here after we bought our LG in 07.

We don't have the "facilities", here in the addition where we live, to have built what we wanted so we opted to purchase one that was Mfg'd. I am hoping, maybe the folks that do have that ability may be able to draw something from this design for a home build?? The Cabin-A is a standie for sure. I am 6'4" and can stand with headroom for about 2/3 of the floor plan. It has too many amenities for me, to tell you the truth, but it has more "inside living" area for the nasty days, and I guess that is what the goal was. I sincerely doubt the water heater or shower will EVER get used....seems like too much work when we can use the facilities where we camp. Since the LG was sub 600lbs loaded, I have had to get used to pulling a bigger "box" behind me, as you did not even know the LG was there.

Short story for us.....we made a pack that we will still camp as if we were in the TD, just that we will be able to dress standing up without giving a show to our neighbors! :)

Here are a couple of more pics.....Thanks to all for the continued support!

Sorry to say......no! Lisa has a Cake Baking endeavor she does for family and friends and she has 4 cakes to do, deliverable on Sat for this weekend......graduation is keeping her busy.

I am her "cleanup" person for all the tools she uses (she won't let me near the cakes due to a slight disaster involving a shop vac last year to the top of one of them!.....long story.....just lets say that a shop vac is NOT to be used to try and suck up some misc crumbs that have got on the icing....Yeah you can picture what happened!) Bad part was just before I fired the sucker up, I heard "I don't think this is a good idea!" come from her.

I am hoping she will free up on her schedule in a few weeks to get it out.....maybe Southern MI for a weekend. We did get to do a break in run to Edward J Roush Reservoir in Huntington last weekend for a night.
