Tongue Box

Postby PKCSPT » Wed Jun 27, 2012 7:43 pm

Finally found a box for my camper, it is the black plastic one. I bought four bolts, washers locking washers and nuts to bolt it down with. Does that sound like enough or should I get a few more? My Little guy has the metal mesh across the frame. it fits pretty tightly, worried that opening and closing it might wear on the teardrop a bit but then again it won't be opened and closed very often. Only way to fix that would be to move the front wheel crank thing.
Wish I could figure out how to load pictures.
Going camping this weekend, can't wait.

If you are placing the bolts thought the bottom of the tongue box make sure you use a water proof sealant after you place the bolts and tighten them down other wise the stuff in the box will get wet from road spray! Ben there done that once!! Welcome to the world of little guy trailers. I have a 2012 silver shadow!! Have fun camping and enjoy your trailer! Where in mn are? I'm in apple valley. I put some cushion felt pads on the box on my tongue. Yeah it's a tight fit!

Four bolts should be more than sufficient. I don't know the design of your tongue box, but you may want to get some wide fender washers and place them on the plastic and on the expanded metal sides to spread out the load.

Thanks for the suggestions, Catering Chef I am over by Cottage Grove.
Well thankfully I realized a problem before I anchored it down. With the box on I can't crank my front wheel up and down so I bungeed it on. It worked great, loved the extra storage and since I can remove it it makes an extra place to sit.
