My wife and I saw Moonrise Kingdom last weekend and I enjoyed it as much for the carefully staged scenes as I did the story. Set on a Maine Island in 1965, it is full of fun visuals of scouting and vintage camping gear. The vintage lovers here will find it candy for the eyes.
It is a type of offbeat, dry humor that not everyone will prefer but if you saw and liked Rushmore or The Royal Tenenbaums, it is the same director, Wes Anderson. He stages every scene like it was in a window at Macy's. They are perfect and full of every detail you can imagine.
