Al in PA wrote:Len, what a great tutorial! Two questions: (1) Did you use a solid piece of aluminum for the roof or will the same "Z" joint used on the sides provide a waterproof joint on the roof? (2) Do you have any pictures showing how you joined the corners/applied molding to create a waterproof seal?
Thanks Al.
I use a rubber roof (I don't trust "Z" joints on a roof...nor do I trust overlap seams either) and run the fabric over the side, then put an RV insert molding set in putty tape over the corner. Then trim the rubber so it goes over the siding.
I'll look for some photos.
BTW, I don't use RV EPDM rubber, I use the commercial grade available at any "GOOD" Roofing supply house. RV EPDM is 20 mills and the commercial, though its the same stuff is 40, and if you can get it 60 mills.
Happy Trails
