We made it to Michigan and picked up our new Teardrop, "Smiley", from Frank Bear at Vintage Technologies. From the moment we hooked it up we were in love. We camped through Indiana, Missouri, Arkansas, Texas, Arizona and Eastern California and the entire trip was wonderful. Yes, even in the heatwave (112 in Missouri!!), we had a great time.
Luckily the Southwestern part of the tour was a bit cooler than usual for this time of year so even the desert was comfortable. We drove through heat, Monsoons and even hit a 1/4 mile stretch in Northern Arizona that had a freak snow storm for about 5 minutes. "Smiley" stayed dry on the inside and performed very well in the heavy rains and slick roads.
