OMG I'm so NOT ready for IRG

Postby asianflava » Fri Jul 20, 2012 12:16 pm

Just flew home the other day and I'm gonna have to leave for IRG in a couple more days. I haven't even dug the trailer out of the garage. I have to buy food/supplies, pack, check the trailer for road-worthiness, give my truck a once-over, etc. I still have to catch the house up on stuff that wasn't done last week. Starting to feel overwhelmed.

I would not worry so much about the food part. You can always buy food in California. You should also have time to make a shopping list on your drive out west, should make the shopping go faster when you get closer.

We are bugging out tomorrow morning. We have the food for the first couple days. Plenty of grocery stores along the way.

See you all next week.....

Managed to dig it out of the garage, but that's about as far as I got today. Gonna check the wheels, tires, and bearings tomorrow.

Pretty close. Got to pack some warmer clothes, pick some cherries, gather up some quilts, make a flag, and then we are ready until Tuesday when we put pack the car and the ice chest and head to Reno for the night! Then on to IRG Wednesday am, hopefully pulling in around 3. See you all there.

Just finished working on some stuff for the Saturday Night raffle and started on the shopping lists. Rob has to wash the trailer and double check the batteries on the the radio and stuff. As long as no one forgets their unmentionables we should be ready to travel early Wednesday morning. See y'all there.

For those traveling up 101 from the south...
Reggae on the River is happening at Benbow. (Today and Sunday 21st & 22nd)
Be careful and patient when driving by this event... Expect it to be congested.

Packed the truck today. Way too much stuff. I want to find good homes for some of my excess coleman stuff and extra trailer build stuff in case anyone needs parts.. Checked a lantern today, Yippee it worked. :) Went to a birthday party this afternoon. Repacked the truck. :o Still have to pack clothes and food and we hit the road middle of the night tomorrow. Will stay one night somewhere and then on to IRG. Then to Idaho and on to Yellowstone then home. Therefore the need for excess stuff. Been making blocks of Ice for the ice chest all week. Still have to clean house before we leave. I will need a vacation from this vacation. Oh yea and my insurance issue is all taken care of. Trailer is insured Woo Hoo! :?

All my stress came to quick halt today. After getting the trailer out of the garage and the Big Green Egg ready for transport, I was gonna run over to Sam's to pick up a brisket. Needed to get gas which reminded me that I needed to figure out how much I needed to get to IRG and back. Estimating that it will cost around $3.45/gal it will take about $300 each way just in gas. Needless to say, due to some bad financial timing I'm not going to make it to IRG this time.

Hey Rocky,

Jean's out of town next weekend so I got a free weekend. Send me a PM if you want to go camping somewhere closer to home.

Hooking up the Stacker Tues morning and heading north. Plan to take 3 days to get there, checking on the sites along the way. All of my 4 plastic bins are filled and ready to load into the back seat, that way I can keep the TD as light as possible. See you-all there.
