headroom above bed

In designing a trailer how much headroom is need/desirable above a bed?
With a curve or angle there will be less headroom on the wall side of the bed (bed across the front) then the other side..

If you want to sit up on the bed 36" is the minimum height. If you want to be picky you can measure that from the mid-thickness of any foam/mattress on the assumption that it will compress that much when you're sitting on it.

This is just sitting headroom - if you want arm-above-head easily-putting-on-a-tee-shirt headroom then 42"+.
