slide outs That work

So I'm designing my tiny house and I might be picking up an 18 foot travel trailer to use as my frame. I would like to put in 2 slide outs or pop outs whatever you want to call them, but I would like a style that works hassle free. I know you get what you pay for but I don't want to order trailer slide outs at a thousand dollars each So I'm looking for an alternative I know some people on her have built their own so I was thinking if they could chime in 8) :twisted: :applause:

I think you're seeking the equivalent of the holy grail.

Most of the people on this forum are a lot smarter than I am, so hopefully someone will post ideas because I'm looking for the same thing. Where I have come up with different ways to make the slides I haven't been able to come up with satisfactory - to me - weather seals.

One of the better prospects that I've seen is the Expandavan method that mezmo mentioned in this thread (toward the bottom):
