New Exterior LED's

Postby wincrasher » Sun Aug 26, 2012 7:33 pm

I installed these lights on a regular travel trailer today. It was a kit I got on amazon.

Has anyone used something like this on their tear? I suppose you could apply them to an ez-up, or even on the body your tear. Suppose you could even use them inside.
The red would be like submarine lighting! There are lots of features on this kit - you can choose just about any color, adjust brightness, flashes, fades, etc.

I use some similar (interior only - white only) for lighting in my galley and for room lighting in the sleeping compartment.

Mine are made from raw LED strips, so I don't know any mfr or source names. They do draw some current, mine are about 100 mA per foot at 12 VDC, and mine generate enough heat to soften the cheap acrylic tubing I mounted mine in :(

I got mine from eBay. They're RGB, with an IP68 rating (they're waterproof)

being a very light sensitive person, I use a halogen light strip to light the interior of my td, it provides even all over light, never glares in my eyes, and is plugged into a dimmer switch which allows nice soft mood lighting for bedtime. the dimmer has a rotary knob that is also push on/off when it is off there is a green LED in it to help me find it/ act as a night light.

Zack,

I was going to install some lights in the camper the way you have yours, but could not come up with a trim that could bend that tight of a curve without breaking. What did you use and does it hide the lights all the way? About how far down did you hold yours from the ceiling?

The 1/2" wide lip that my LED strips sit on is actually the interior skin, which is part of my "trolley-top" design. The raised trolley-top section is about 5" above the led strips.
