My teardrops NEW owner.......?

Postby Nic » Wed Oct 24, 2012 10:40 pm

Hey everyone!!!! I know... its been forever!!! The loss of my teardrop (a lot of you know about) had me kinda down for a bit. Too down to come to the site. But its been some time and with a new build almost done and no camping in two years its all back on my mind. Gotta love teardrops!!!! So anyways. My reason for posting tonight is curiosity. After a few of you helped track down my teardrop i was able to speak with the man who restored it. He was very nice, understanding, and helpful. He felt bad for me and even offered to sell it to me at a discounted price. At the time i was in no place to buy the teardrop AND pay for transporting it. So i had no choice but to let it go. :( I asked this man if he could at least let me know where it goes and who buys it for my own hope of one day having my teardrop back. He understood and was very willing to help me out with that. But its been a long time now and i have lost all contact info i once had. SO.... i noticed my teardrop is now on the hall of fame under Frank's Restored red and White. FYI if u know my camper it looks nothing like it used to. So i was just wanting to ask is there anyway to contact someone through their hall of fame postings? At this point its just a curiosity that's getting to me. i would just like to know where my baby is these days, how its doing, is it taken care of, and would it possibly be for sale in a few months. I'm not ready to try and sweet talk its current owner into selling it to me at this time. But i do plan to sleep in it again one day. lol Even if i have to wait 20 years. ONE DAY.... i'll have my baby back. If anyone knows who owns it now, or who Frank is would u mind dropping me a line? I would love to at least see a pic of it at camp, with its new owner smiling from the joy of owning it. I know its sappy but the build of that camper got me through some very trying times in my life. I would just like to know anything about its current life. Maybe contact with the current owner for a possible future purchase of my lil teardrop. Again i am NOT in a position to try and buy it. But in a few months i will be, and it will basically be a name your price situation. Ugh if i'm lucky enough that the current owner could stand to part with it. Anyways i'm sure a lot of you understand to the point that i am over explaining myself. So thanks ahead of time. You guys and gals always ROCK!!! I miss my teardrop buddies!!!! Ill be posting pix of my NEW build one of these days. Two years in the works. :D
Im not lazy. I just hang out a lot.

Hi Nic,
And thanks for your update. Over the past few years I followed your teardrop saga and did wonder what became of you and the 'drop.....so nice that you are back. And you are not sappy, maybe a better term would be sentimental. You can find the person by their user handle but I know someone will chime in soon with the person you want to contact.

Hey Nic once again, I'm sorry for your loss. Looks like the new owner is at least trying to take care of it. His username is "wordbank" but he doesnt have any posts, other than the pictures. If you contact Mike (mikeschn), he might be able to contact Frank via the email address he registered with. Worth a shot at least. Good luck.

Yeah two years no pix. partly due to my loss of my first teardrop i have kinda been staying away. Its like seeing a pic of your dog that has passed away. Just been too soon. Also my garage was broken into and every single tool i had is now gone. So my current build is put away in my parents barn. UGH one day ill come up with the money to replace my tools and get this camper done. ITS SO CLOSE. Mostly trim and seats. And mount the hatch. Ill look through my pix and see what i can post. I kinda wanted to wait till it was all done and "drop it like its hot" lmao. 8) But i do recall watching other peoples build move along with a close eye and looked forward to new build pix.
yes it looks like someone is at least trying to take care of my old camper. Cant lie and say that i wish they didnt paint it. lol Thats a lot of paint thinner ill be using in 20 years trying to bring it back. lol :frightened: Im thinking the pix are posted by the guy who restored it. i hope if he sold it they are at least on the forum. :worship:

If you click on the highlighted name up there in the previous post, wordbank profile comes up. From there you can email or pm him.

Have fun!

Also, it probably wouldn't do any good to PM him. Being how it looks like he was last on the board Feb. 10th, 2011 and that was just long enough to post the pictures in the HOF. :o

P.S. It could be noted that he also joined TnTTT on that same date.

I don't understand, wasn't your teardrop stolen? Its stolen property, why does't he have to give it back?

Long story short. The person i trusted it with got in touch with me after months and months. She told me she tried to tow it and that it came off her hitch and was damaged. And then some how she was able to sell it to this guy and he was able to get a title somehow. Im not sure how all that works. But im not in a position to fight it. sucks! But i was in touch with the owner for a bit. He threatened me when i first contacted him. He thought i was some kind of craigslist crack head till i told him enough details that it was clear to him it was for sure my trailer. Lessons learned. Im over it. I just want my camper back at some point in my life. Im not on a mission here just curious and thinking about it. I wish i had a leg to stand on with all this. But its not worth the stress or frustration to be upset about any longer. Gotta keep on truck'n and get my new one done. And NEVER trust ANYONE with it EVER!!! lmao.
Im not lazy. I just hang out a lot.
