Vintage UK Winchester Caravans for Inspiration

Postby mezmo » Thu Dec 20, 2012 2:48 am

'Found this on the Aussie Vintage Caravan site.

It's a 7 min video someone did of a 92 yr old Englishman showing
his 1930s Winchester Caravans [TTs] [The brand existed from 1930s to 1950s.]
which, per him, were all hand built and were considered "The Rolls of
Caravans" in their day.

They have some ingenious features and self-evident high quality design
and workmanship/craftsmanship even 60 to 80 years later.

Thank you Norm!

It's interesting to note how thin the sidewalls are at the door opening. Definitely no more than an inch - which shows how little you need if you have really good timber to build from.

Wow, what a nice trailer. Don't think I'll find one around here though....
