I wonder how much money Massachusetts and Wyoming is hiding from the public?

How can anyone criticize California. We have the most people on welfare (http://www.cnbc.com/id/31910310/page/16), the most people unemployed (unemployment rate times population), the most illegal immigrants (http://www.statemaster.com/graph/peo_es ... immigrants), and I'm sure we lead in lots of other categories, both good and bad.

In spite of all the crap here the weather can't be beat. That said the money we spend on excessive taxes would pay our utilitiy bills many other places more than three times over and we're thinking of moving in the forseeable future.

Heck, the $50 some million isn't squat in the big picture.

Hmmm, it's not cool to knock another's State. As a retiree, living comfortably, surounded by ocean, deserts, canyons, valleys, waterfalls, blue skys, beautiful redwood trees, scenic shoreline drives and even Hollywood, I think I'll stick around for at least another 20 years or so. I love traveling all over the US, and far be it for me to criticize any place where others choose to live. Just my 2 cents.

Yea, I was born here, I will stick it out for all the same reasons. Sacramento will wake up some day and I will be here to see it.

Being a native I feel "entitled" to criticize the situation here all I want. Just like I can call a friend "Gyrene" but others just might get knocked on their posterior for doing so. That said I'm not entirely convinced that our politicians (local, state, and federal) will ever wake up as they're too busy getting themselves re-elected and that is their real goal.

True. There is wasye a fraud in all levels of government everywhere. I can hardly for the reports in Kansas City when the start to build thier street car line down town. The resident population is sparse as it is a largely commercial aream so aprox. 600 people got to decide if all the buisinesses would get to have their property taxes increased for a poorly planned addition to the public transportation system. The two mile street car line will cost an estimated $100 million to build. Will there be cost overruns? You bet there will. It's a government money grab after all. Ind at the same time, The city is plagued with failing water mains and a 200 year old sewer system that is under federal order to be upgraded at a cost in the billions of dollars. But folks would rather put the money into a useless toy train. It ain't just Cali.

I live in Illinois, You are welcome to criticize this state. We have so many self inflicted problems brought about by a crooked political system. What isn't corrupt is done foolishly.

Here is a simple example of Illinois's way of solving a problem. They just added 2 bucks to every license plate renewal state wide. Their plan is to use the money to make repairs to our State Park roads and buildings. The estimate of repair money needed is 750 Million dollars. The 2 buck raise in taxes will bring in 20 million. Of that 20 million HALF that money will go to staff and new park programs. Do you see a solution here? This is how we do things in Illinois.

Here is the punch line.....(drum roll here) RV's are exempt from the rise in taxes on their license plates! Why tax the people that use the parks?

The weather is beautiful, but there's no way I would put up with the crowding, taxes, cost of living and political crap that you Californians have to deal with.

Snow doesn't hurt.

Neither does asphixiation with an inert gas but both will kill you. I've read that in the end stages of hypothermia you get "warm" all over and just go to "sleep".

I have a friend who after 38 years in the USMC moved back to Michigan. He says he's "fascinated with weather that is trying to kill you".

Bright horizon to horizon deep blue skies today. After a real cold snap (highs in the mid 50s) it's gonna be about 60 today.

Cheers,

Gus

Yes, I like my state--It isn't CA, but chances are, you wouldn't. I discourage people from moving here. Unfortunately, many former Californians have immigrated to Warshington. Oh well....

Here is this item. California and my fair state aren't doing too badly.
