Pick up trailer work/play trailer

Postby Ron Dickey » Sat Feb 02, 2013 9:06 pm

I have no pictures I have drawn a few.
But I brought this up because I was thinking of those who need a trailer to hall things for work or play and need a truck bed in the back more then a kitchen.

it could have lumber rack on it. and at the same time a place to sleep or do office work and still have a unit that they can bring to a gathering. fill the back with camping stuff or have a back porch with a canopy, outdoor kitchen, outdoor dinning area.

This would be for the carpenter, contractor type, handy man or woman who does not have room for 2 trailers and needs it for work too. You can do this with a utility trailer too, but some love the teardrop idea.
One could have a removable galley and hatch too. there are many directions one could go with this idea.

This is a little like see this cadillac pickup but without the engine compartment. (gosh I wish I could make things look this good :FNP )

of course a much shorter bed and only big enough to hold a bail of hay or several tool boxes, but with a lumber Rack it could be quite helpful for both hauling and camping.

I was sketching out my new design for the Cross Bow trailer so I could photograph it and give people in the Builders Journal my ideas and came up with.
I ran a line the wrong way and it came up looking something like a little like a VW van/pickup but the rear looks more like the Honda ridgeline bed.
I guess I will have to do some more drawing and photograph both trailer ideas.

Check out the one with the 'bath module'.
It has a very unique door that goes around the
off road side front corner !

Then again it depends on what type of work you do

Ron
That was just Great!
Sandi liked the one with the attached bathroom????
Price was good too. You could not build it yourself for that price or at least attain that level of finish for that price.

I always wanted to carry the restroom/ shower (like found in full standy types ) in the bed of a truck and pull a teardrop that way if I left I did not have to hunt for a clean bathroom in a unfamiliar place.

Explaining the above drawings.
The top one was a mistake drawing the back line in the wrong direction made me think it might be cool if it could do double duty.
A trailer that could be used for both work and play.
A place where the worker could rest, write up his bills. It would be for the guy who wants a teardrop and can not afford a small truck.
102028
the pictures below it are ideas of adding ladder and lumber supports that could be removed and be taken camping. rear could hold tools, lawn mower, bales of hay, fuel, etc.

The next one offers a teardrop Transformer unit. with removable hatch, cabinets, and attachable lumber support unit.

I titled this the HANDY CAMPER.
