2bits new Tiny Trailer (Yes another one)

Postby 2bits » Thu Mar 28, 2013 11:46 pm

Hi Guys,

My friend turned me onto a FB site called East Texas Man Cave where people locally sell all kinds of stuff and while I had literally planned top buy a teardrop I found for $800 (I still may), I stumbled across this tiny trailer. It is a 1974 Prowler. I like the 1974 since that is the make of my Monte Carlo and my favorite year. He was asking $500 and I bought it for $375 and it even has a title  I stopped by the big box store and picked up some magnetic tow lights, since the wiring harness was hacked up, and it towed home like a dream. The bearings were cool after an hour and a half drive. It definitely is a project but being a tiny trailer, I could not resist it for that price. It has severe rot around the tail lights which means the entire rear needs to be rebuilt. The interior looks awesome though so I am hoping to be able to rebuild the rotted framing sections in stages without doing a full tear down and then keep all the original stuff in place.

The idea is for this one to be a guest house that I will set back in the woods on my property for people who want to come by and hang put by the fire pit but not drive home. The other tiny trailer my mom gave me will be the one I rebuild for myself :)

the old girl dont look too bad for her age.
Hope the floors are solid, if so, the rest is easy.
A back wall tear down should take about 7 hours to have it back together with all new framing. Good luck.
Good price for a towable rig in any shape

Build On!!! 8)
If it ain't broke, fix it till it is

Dang, And why not? that is a give-away price for anything good enough to be towed away! And, someone cared enough about it to keep up with the title.
Have fun with it.
Time in a Bottle is the #1 song from 1974.
I was remembering back and nothing big came up for me from that year.
East Texas Man Cave sounds addicting. I'll tell my husband about it; it will be fun for him to look at, but too far to drive there from Austin (I hope).
Do you have the link?

Thomas,
That is really cool! You're putting together quite a collection. We're not too far from east Texas. I need to check out that site.
Take care,
Tom

Go onto Facebook and enter East Texas Man Cave into the search box, it covers alot of area! there are two, one is an "auction" site where people put bids as comments. Like any FB for sale site, people are going to repost all the time to keep their stuff at the top, and there are no caragories, but at least the stuff here mainly stays in the redneck catagory LOL...
