I just finished mine about two weeks ago and am thinking about finding another trailer to start again. It keeps me out of trouble.Just wondering how long everyone else waited.
I got mine mostly done in fall of 2008 and started serious thinking about what my 2nd one would be in 2011 and started collecting iron and axles for the trailer. Will probably start cutting iron in a few weeks. I do not think it will be campable before fall 2014.
I do not have mine totally finished yet, and have not even taken it camping for the first time. And I have already gathered enough for one or two new projects????? And my thought? Good Roads Brian
I waited about a year or so, and then built the second in about a month. I'd taken my original tow vehicle off the road and needed something lightweight in a hurry. I think I'll redo a bunch of things on the first this year. I can feel the urge again
Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day; teach a person to use the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks.

I am building my own casket. Thinking about using camping and motorcycle cloth for the lining. Maybe some paintings on the outside. My sister does some painting

This sounds like an excellent idea I like the idea of the paintings, some pics of your progress would be great [/quote]
It will probably be about 2 years before I can really get started on it. I am pretty sure I have enough time to finish it.
I don't think there will be a number two for me, but I never say never.
We plan to retire in 5 years and do some more extended traveling so we will probably buy a bigger trailer at that point. Until then, the teardrop we have will do us just fine. I am just finishing it. This will be our first camping season in it. After 2 years in the garage building, and no camping, I can't even bear the thought of starting over again.
Life is sooooo good......... Sail...camp....bike...repeat Becky
I really enjoyed building this one. Took about a year to build and was a great way to get out of my wife's hair. I think I want to build a more traditional style tear and include a galley. Last weekend I was parked by a Little guy 6x10 and it was awesome. Out of my price range but awesome. The couple gave me a tour and were super nice. That's what got me to thinking about building a new teardrop. These are the only pics I have of it finished. Haven't even finished my build thread.
I finished my first tear ( a Kuffel Creek Cubby) in December 2003. Started my next project ( a 1946 Kit rebuild) in June of 2004. Counting the Cubby and my 2 current tears I have cycled through 13 trailers. Some have been rebuilds, some from scratch, some unfinished projects from other folks and one which I bought finished, used for a year and passed on to someone else. Now I am thinking of another scratch built but I have not yet started another project.
