Tours!

Postby Fyddler » Fri Jul 12, 2013 10:39 pm

First day in a public camp ground, 2 tours so far and someone curious about my Colman Roadtrip grill. I guess I kinda expected it but still surprised! Lucky I like visiting.

Get used to it.

If you wnat to really freak out the campground, go around and knock on all the rv doors and ask if you can come in to look around.
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

I'd come over and want to see your trailer if I saw it. It's very eye catching.

Slow, folks in WY are probably more sensitive to privacy issues. Near the city they have no problem walking up to a total stranger and asking to look. And the smaller the more looking you will get. 8)

Same here, at almost every gas station I stopped at on a recent east-to-west coast trip. I've even had people run after me as I was leaving the station... :frightened:

Just had an elderly couple follow us to a store parking lot in Two Harbors Mn. They had to see it, took pictures. The guy said he used to have an Airstream way back when. Hardly ever stop for gas without somebody walking up....

I think people are just real friendly here. I have also had people stop and chat about my Camp Chef oven, didn't seem interested in my trailer at all. Got some great tips!

Hey Slow, I have a hand printed sign that says: "Interested Teardrop enthusiasts welcome"! When I turn it over, it says: "Go Away, Leave Me Alone!" It always gets a laugh, and usually a prolonged question and answer session.........no problem,. (see you soon)

Quick splash-n-go gas stops take longer than planned when you have to give tours.

Ours looks too much like a small conventional trailer and folks assume it "goes up". When we have the galley hatch up we get more attention and lookers. I think Miriam may be correct that folks up north tend to look but not ask for a "tour".

I've found that I often have an audience watching when I put the Pointy Trailer up or down.

Some years ago, my sister and I took a week trip in my vintage VW camper. Everywhere, people wanted to look at it, talk about the one they owned way back when and give us thumbs up when passing. My sister was astounded because no one ever did that when she was in her 36' Pace .,,,, well duh...
