Ideas for a "Tailgate" Teardrop

Postby rlnl99 » Fri Aug 16, 2013 2:38 am

Hello fellow teardropers. I'm thinking about building a teardrop specifically for tailgating at up coming football games. Has anyone got any ideas for something like this? Does anyone have any pictures of this sort of thing? Thanks Roger
If you give me a canvas, and I'll give you art.

It's posted on here somewhere. Look up Neiman Marcus Christmas catalog. I believe it was last year's. It had a teardrop with front and rear hatches designed for partying.

Here is the teardrop that comes to mind when looking for a tailgate teardrop. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.469291836491509.1073741826.340811139339580&type=1 It even has a private Restroom for the big game.

I'd go with a "Diner" style build so you can have a place to eat/watch the game that can be air conditioned/heated for the extremes of weather, grill under the hatch with a side burner, awning on the side(s), a door that opens on the street side(?) to expose the big screen TV, and a small TV on the inside viewable from the eating table.

And a bunch of folding "directors chairs" silk screened with your teardrop's name.

This is not for sleeping, right?

But presumably, you'd have tickets for the actual game.

When I built my TD, I wanted to be able to tailgate in mine.

I added a full car stereo in the galley. And you can connect a RCA to earphone jack that goes from the TV's audio RCA outputs to a TV. And my radio is pretty loud:

Then, I added a coax in and out outlet and a DirecTV portable dish.

How I have it setup is; I have one coax that goes from the dish in the TD to the SAT IN on the receiver. Then, I use a RCA cable to go to the TV inside the camper. The TV OUT on the receiver, goes back out to the other outlet, which goes to a external TV. Then I just hook up the audio out RCA jack to the radio, and BOOM! We are ready to party. Music and TV all together.

Example:

Then, the best part is, you can sleep in it if you get too drunk.
