Heads up! - Louisiana Cypresswood Gathering VII

Postby 2bits » Thu Sep 19, 2013 9:33 pm

Calling all you coon asses! We usually book the entire park within a week of the time booking begins! I think alot of people are focused on all the stuff in our own personal lives but I would just like to send a reminder out to the group that we have about half the attendance that we have registered in previous years and we are coming up on the actual event! So the point of this message is that there are still sites open and we hope to invite all who would like to join us! We already have a great crew and it will be a great time regardless, so ponder the offer and join if you are able!

We'll keep the Margaritas cold for ya!

Come one, come all!

As Thomas said, the reservations for the LCG gathering are down from prior years. The campgrounds are nice and the restrooms are clean. There is a great mix of old (that's us) and young, families and no families. The weather is usually chilly enough for a roaring campfire in the evening and morning, but is warm enough for t-shirts and shorts during the day.

If you want a minor diversion from camping, Shreveport and Bossier City are about 20 minute drive where you can visit the historic river area, shop or go to the casinos.

Take care,
Tom

Im trying to convince the wife to go camping that weekend, but the last time we went that late in the year it got below freezing and we still just have the tent. We will come out for the day but over night is still a discussion. :?

Randy,

If you have one, take one of those little electric ceramic heaters with you and put it inside the tent. They do a nice job of keeping things warm, even in a tent.

 I have a few of those, from living in a mobile without heat. Long past those hard times.
Have yall ever been to Cypress Black Bayou over here? Last time we went there it was pretty nice.

Bump... :ilovecamp:

It's not too late. Please join the South Central section at the LCG gathering.

Not to derail the thread, but I live in a mobile home and I have a vintage gas heater for the living room and those little Wally world heaters in the bedrooms and bathrooms and they work great! Much better than the central heat. The furnace got rusted so I used this setup as a temporary approach, but I don't think I'll ever bother replacing the central heat and probably will pull the unit out and use it for a closet :)

I never heard of Cypress Black Bayou, what is that? I like the sound of it!

Cypress is another camp ground north of Bossier. Tent camping was nice, big sites, and there's a nice lake with swim areas. There's even a small zoo and hiking and biking trails. Yall will have to check it out when ya come this way.
