Perfect camping weather

Postby Martiangod » Mon Jan 06, 2014 5:45 pm

With all this bad weather, It's looking sunny near end of week. Thinking may get a run in up to Grande Prairie and home by way of Grande Cache, trying to think where I can park out this time of year. Looking like it may get up to 25 F by saturday.
Should have enuff propane left from the cross country run, know I have one 20lb full, have to check the second one
Got all my lighting fixed, so no issues there.
Trailers sitting all warm and cozy in the shop, just waiting
Sick of sitting in this apartment getting fat
Back to work Monday soooooo.
Just need to run to doctor to freshen up the lobotomy and good to go :frightened:
So, who else is going camping this weekend?

Hmmm, I think the wife is gonna veto me on this

I'm not. It's 21ºF in the middle of Idaho. But if I was –hang on a minute....– let me check my bucket list for January camping... Nope. Saskatchewan ain't on it!

Cold and dark. Makes a fella wonder. At least it's a good time to be working inside on my tongue box. No camping-trip of a deadline staring at me. I can milk this project out a few more weeks.

I heard that there are some people who have a "polar bear " club who go out in cold weather and jump in fridged water in bathing suits, I personally think they all belong to the lobotomist group of people, I on the other hand enjoy a warm place to be, the colder it gets the more I stay inside where it is warm. Now when I was younger I did go on a Boy Scout winter camp out but it was 25 degrees warmer than today, 8 degrees. No,................. I will stay warm no camping for me right now.

My son's Scout troop is holding it's "Glacial Glutes" campout on January 18. The district Klondike derby is in February (usually our coldest month). The GG honcho is trying to talk me into coming out to play chef. I'm still thinking on it.

It is up to -2 from the over night low of -19 Compass Rose is basically buried in snow. This was taken a couple of days ago before round three of snow and the arctic vortex. The snow now is up to the top of the wheel.

I enjoy a winter camp out once a year but the temps of the past week, stayed home. Above zero daytime temps with little wind is what I wait for.
