I feel your pain Slow. We have had 45 days with below zero temperatures, and huge snowfalls to boot. Getting another 6" today. My hope is since winter was so tough we go straight to summer!

Slow
What about your poor neighbours to the north?
Last night the predicted low with wind chill in Saskatoon Sask. was -65 and over in Regina it was -69. :?
We were happy to be out here in B.C. with a balmy -5 as our low.
Should see our last snow tomorrow.....and then it will be free sailing into spring.
So get ready for some camping!

This has definitely been the coldest winter I have ever lived through. First time I've had to deal with the water line freezing in the crawlspace beneath the bathroom...and I've been here 17 years. And a couple of weeks later the line from the house to the septic tank froze and had to have that jetted out and the tank pumped. The ground was frozen solid so it was hard to get to the tank and of course that added to the cost...the bill ended up being $1265. And then last Sunday the ignitor on my furnace went out (always happens on the weekend), so I had to pay overtime charges for the service call. So yes...I am ready for summer also. I have a feeling that by now there is a pretty sizable bounty on that groundhog!

I am so sick of snow this winter and so tired of winter.

I am starting to wonder that myself, March first and we are running 30 degrees below normal.
But I guess I am getting used to it, the other night it -5 and I took the trash out without a coat. I stood there looking at the stars and thinking it felt kinda nice.
I have always loved winter and cold and snow, but I am done. Last year was a long icy winter that lasted til May then we got snow before Thanksgiving this year and it hasn't warmed up since.
Tired of being cold, tired of snow.
I have noticed Minnesotans are getting a bit cranky now.
On the bright side I see California got some rain.

Slow, come over to this side of the mountains. WE hardly had a winter. Oh it had its cold spells but very little snow or rain. And it really was not that cold. I have seen a lot colder many many times. We been getting rain the past few days, not a lot but this time of year it does not dry out very fast. As you you know.

In central Wisconsin, seems like we've gotten more snow this winter than the last 2 or 3 years combined. Great for the snowmobilers and other winter sports enthusiasts, and great for replenishing the low water tables. I've heard the frost line is deeper than usual. I hope it doesn't warm up too quick------fast melt and flooding! :frightened:

Well here it is Mar. 2nd.....and if I had just awakened from a long winter's nap or a coma and looked outside this morning, I would guess that today was Jan. 2nd. :?
The snow is falling straight down and we only have about a half mile of visibility.
I have yet to plow my driveway this winter (plow is not even on the tractor) and I am not about to start! But if it keeps up at this rate all day, I will be forced to think about it.
Just a week ago I was thinking about starting my yard work. :R
This makes me wonder if next winter we should just hook up Miss Piggy and head south for the winter.........camp in the desert. Maybe it is time!
Getting too old to shovel snow.

Reading all these stories, and watching the news all winter has made me realize how blessed we have been this winter, very little snow and just a couple of cold spells, its been great for us. I hope that in a couple of months you will all be camping, and will have just a faint memory of the winter of 2014, think warm, think about beautiful camping spots, and DO cooking recipes.....LOL
