2015 Early Birds, Get Ready!!!!

22nd Dam Gathering of the Tears, Apr. 30 - May 3, 2015 !!!

We've just wrapped up negotiations with the NEW Management at Antlers RV Park & Campgrounds, and it's all good ... ...! We were anticipating a raise in the rates, but were thrilled to learn that the RV sites will remain at $15.00 per night per trailer ... and the rate for the tent sites actually went down to $11.00 per night per trailer ... ...! We will still be able to put multiple trailers on the sites that can accommodate two or more (which are most of them), so nothing has really changed, there (depending on the site, though, they may choose to put a limit on how many you can try to squeeze in ... ...).

The biggest change is the best! ... the new management is actually the Antlers Resort & Marina that has always been just across the way from the campgrounds, and they are far more professional and better staffed (which means you will actually hear back from them when you call or e-mail for reservations!). AND, our fabulous campgrounds host and wrangler, Marty, will still be there to make sure things keep running smoothly and that the grounds are as clean and ready for us as they can be!

So, if you've been itching to get an early start on your 2015 camping season reservations, and want to put the Dam Gathering at-or-near the top of your list, you can start now! Details below:

The Jefferson State Chapter of TearJerkers' 22nd Dam Gathering of the Tears at Antlers RV Park & Campgrounds ... the oldest and longest-running teardrop gathering in the world! Our great times with great people and great trailers (all are welcome!) just keeps rollin’ along! Pinewood Gravity Races, Potlucks & Campfires all nights, and all the fun we’re known for ... just come on out, socialize, and have FUN! Thanks Grant for the info!!!!! Now I'm about halfway there for my 2015 vacation dates when I request them early next year at work. Now, if that guy from Canada would just post his dates for the Farm Gathering next year I'll be set. hint-hint-hint Take care. Ted Hoefer

Just call them or e-mail them with the site you want (it will help if you have one or two alternates, as there are already quite a few reservations) and the dates (in-an-around Apr. 30 thru May 3) and say you're with the 22nd Dam Gathering ... they should apply our special rates to your reservations (I really don't think they want the public to know the kind of break we're getting, plus remember, the Dam Gathering is during off-season rates for them, and they're posting current seasonal rates at this time). If there is a problem, please let me know ... they have assured me that they'll be right on top of things, but they're still new to this big-group thing (we're the biggest single group they have in the 'grounds all year!).

Like Grant said "Don't go by what is said on their web page.” You need to call and talk to a sweet young lady at 1-800-238-3924. What you also might do is go down to the 'Jefferson State’ section of this forum and read what Grant has posted under the title: 22nd Dam Gathering of the Tears, Apr. 30 - May 3, 2015 !!!

You can pick from anywhere in the campgrounds, as long as the site is available ... we don't recommend RVs in the tent sites, but we usually pack a lot of teardrops and a handful tiny travel trailers in them ... just depends on what you need and where you want to be (and, of course, what's available). You can always e-mail me with questions, as well ... ...!

BTW ... there are a couple of sites shown on their map in the inner circle, next to the playground ... NO ONE can have those! ... that's where we have the communal campfire and potlucks and social functions!

all ready, there is a big change from last year calling Antlers on the phone - someone answered it on my first call in!! (last year over 20+calls and no one answered) BUT I had the same problem as the earlier person here on the blog, the lady who id'ed herself as the office manger did not know anything about the rates for the Dam Gathering and would not reserve a site for me until she contacted someone about this. I called up there a few minutes ago and talked to Janet and not all have gotten the word. They have a bunch of boats coming in right now and said if you could call back Monday to firm up your reservation that would be great. $15 per night for an RV site. They only ask for a $25 deposit and then the balance is paid when you arrive at the campground.

called back in around 4pm and spoke to Janet also and was able to get a reservation for next year, got site X-6. 2 for 2 on phone calls into Antlers this year - GREAT !!!!!!
